My very first BG
Despite having played WoW for quite some time, before last
night, I'd never played a round of Battlegrounds (BG). For my virginal run into
Warsong Gulch, I chose my level 32 gnome warlock named Krios (Bloodhoof Realm).
Here's what I learned:
Never, and I mean NEVER, take a warlock into BG without
shards! I ended up having to switch to
my imp because the voidwalker was useless in PvP. Dying 11 times would be a good indication that I wasn't doing so well, since I only landed 1 killing blow. Be sure to read up on PvP
specs for your class before you venture into BG, otherwise you might end up
with a build like mine and feel vastly underpowered. The biggest tip I can offer for new players
is to remember to talk to your group and figure out a strategy, otherwise you
will end up losing like we did!
BG was a complete blast and I'll be doing it more for sure,
even with the two losing battles under my nightsky belt. This is a great niche
for players who love to play FPS and maybe miss aspects of those game types
while playing WoW. The fact that you can start playing BG at level 10 shows
that Blizzard has done an amazing job of diversifying the game for all
different levels and types of players.

I just did the same thing this past week and I'm hooked.
I re-tooled my level 29 warlock with my Imp/on Demo Talent Tree.
I found the imp does pretty good damage and then I don't have to worry about shards.
