Joystiq is reporting a bit from Gaming Steve with an image that seems to indicate that the new race everyone has been talking about may be the Murlocs.
I hate the Murlocs. They have killed me multiple times when they all swarm together with that annoying gurgling battlecry of theirs.
Please, say it ain't so, Blizzard.

I don't think it will be murlocs... Personally, I'm holding out for slimes joining the Alliance!
I agree that it will probably be an "ugly" race, but I think it will have to be a race that they can fit current classtypes into, including armor models and all of that too.
My bet is on the furbolg... They used to be allied with the Night Elves, and there's that quest in Ashenvale.

I want to kill ally Murlocs in PVP so badly.
Personally, I want to kill the grown men who play the "hot lil' women" toons also, so if Allies get the Murlocs, that's all I will see in the Battlegrounds.

Although Murlocs would KICKASS, i still believe Goblins will be the new Alliance race. In fact, Goblins were even going to be the 4th race before they decided on Gnomes http://www.blizzard.com/insider/insider-018.html check it out, it staets just that. Still though, if murlocs were playable....OOOOOOOO. i would play one up to lvl 70 i would, just for thier battle cry

The smaller Murloc looks much like the pet Murloc available to BlizzCon attendees. Although, I feel personally that the only good Murloc is a dead Murloc! As long as it's not Kobolds, we're probably okay, right? "You no take candle!"
