Memorable PvP Moments?
While out hunting with my undead rogue on the WoW Insider server today, I came across a Night Elf Warrior, several
levels higher than me, in the process of ganking a lowly level 10 Priest, and his friend, who had already fallen. They
had put up a good fight, taking about half the warrior's health, but the fight was almost over when I decided to step
in at the last minute to see if I could do any good.I figured that, even with half his health, he would take me down as well without much trouble, but to my surprise, I got a couple of lucky criticals in, and with the help of a handy health potion, actually brought him down. I can't tell you how richly satisfying that kill was was, and it got me to wondering...
Have you ever had any PvP moments in the game that were memorable for one reason or another? Ones that made you want to stand up & cheer, or ones so embarrassi! ng (like being killed by a rogue 10 levels lower than you) that you wanted to cringe? Let us hear about 'em; everybody loves a good adventure story...or a good tragedy.

Unfortunately memorable:
I was lvl 45ish, and rather bored, so I decided to take on a lvl50 Hoarde guard in the Arathi Highlands. I think I was at 20% health, and he was at 10%, when a lvl18 horde decided to step in and have a swipe at me. Unfortunately, that was just enough to have me dead at the guard's 1% mark.
Running past the lvl (??) Burning Man guards at Halloween was real fun too!
My name! Jan 4th 2006 12:49PM
I have a good escape story! I was a level 43 Warlock in Stranglethorn vale, minding my own business hunting goblins for their blue singing shards. A 60 Mage Gnome named Midgetty (i'd like to bring shame to his name) started casting in front of me. I saw him intime, so i activated my Spellstone to absorb some damage. He got the cast through and did quite a bit of damage, and i then sacrificed my voidwalker i had out, to take even more damage. As i was being hit by his next attack, i launched off a lucky fear, mounted, and got away! I was laughing my *** off. lol

I was a lvl 53 Shadow priest passing thru SS when a 29 and 32 lvl "lowbees" asked for some assistance from a couple of horde who were ganking and camping them. I stepped in to help them and stuck around to make sure my allies were safe.
Well the horde called in some reinforcements themselves and a 60 lvl rogue showed up (or stealthed up) to kick my butt. I couldn't beat him, but I wasn't about to back down. After res, I went back only to be confronted by the same 60 rouge and his buddy a 49 rogue as well. So I called out for reinforcements and a 54 hunter came by my side as well as some 60 lvl buddies. Needless to say, they called up their friends as well and before you knew it we had a full on raid between SS and Tarren Mill.
The original 60 rogue kept targeting me no matter who was around and at times he killed me, and other times I got my hits in as he was taken down as well. I was not about to back down.
All in all, I died countless times (more than a few at the rogue's hand), but managed 20+ honor kills myself. Certainly more fun than some quests, and I was able to improve my battling techniques and strategies due to better competition.

Hey cancerox what server are you on, I was involved in exactly the same thing once except I'm horde
My worst moment was when I was at the crossroads with my warrior at lvl 28 I dueled a mage of 26 and he won. At the time I had no technique to kill mages. A lvl 19 mage saw this and requested a duel. I figured I'd get some easy practice on him.
He would hit me then run around a building in circles, hit me, run around until after about 5 minutes of dueling he killed me. Almost everyone in XR went "OMG a lvl 18 beat a lvl 28"

I was in IF with my 58 hunter (PvE) looking for an instance group and, naturally, couldn't find one. I was bored, so I decided to help some ~30s on a run through SM. When a few of us had gathered outside, one of the group members had his PVP flag up from one of the horde guards in the area. Just to be careful, I set a trap at his feet and moved back a ways. Soon after, poof, nabbed me a 60 undead rogue. Hunter's Mark, Pet, Aimed Shot. The rogue made a break for the instance portal. He was inches away from escape when an Arcane Shot critted and he fell. /cheer
That was my first non-raid PVP experience. Good times.

It was when I was level 50. It was so fun! I was walking in I don't know whcih land, but somewhere in Eastern Kingdom when a level 60 rogue (I know that he was 60 because a lvl 58 Pally saw me killed him so he saw his level)gank me. Believe me or not, I killed him, and I even camp him! It was funny and I was impressed. If you think that his gear was bad, that's not true, he had enchant, a good dagger and all. I qwas impressed by myself to see that I was able to kill someone 10 level more than me! For the Alliance!

My very first PvP experience was when I was running through the sepulcher, and noticed a party of 4 alliance - one that was orange to me (can't remember exact levels, but I think I was under 20 at the time), and 3 others that were about 3 levels lower than me each. At the time, I didn't understand what PvP flags were, so I quickly stealthed and prepared to fight.
But they just ran past, and didn't even care about me. They stopped to kill a bear, and I ran up to them and sapped the high leveller. I thought I was going to lose, but may bring down a couple of the lowbies. I killed two of them whilst the high leveller was sapped, and got the other down to half health. Luckily, a priest ran up to me at this time and started healing me. I killed all four, it was a great moment.
More recently, I was having a grammatical debate with people yesterday, and by pure coincidence found one of the people who was calling me a "gay 43 year old virgin" or some such. For a lark, he decided to duel me.
He was almost level 40 (warrior), and I was level 30 (rogue). He stood still and took my stuns and sinister strikes in the back, I didn't even lose 200 hp. He only slowly turned around and was unresponsive to my jumping.
For the Horde!

I have never had a good PvP time every time I have tried to make a toon on a PvP server I was never able to get the toon past lev 5 due to unending ganking... step away from the guards in a newbe area bang some rogue 20 lev up is there to one shot you... I just do not understand how you can even start on a PvP unless you have friend to guard your back so after 3 attemps on diferent servers I went back to PvE
now I will not even try to duel or use the wargrounds on the PvE servers the ganking soured me so much
Is there any plan to have a WOW insider guild on a PvE Server? I really do not like PvP (the Ganking drove me nuts when I tried it once) but I would enjoy meeting and playing with all of you if you do decide to do a PvE or PvE RP guild

I dunno if there are any official plans for a WoW Insider PvE server, but most of my mains are on Cenarion Circle, a PvE server, so feel free to buzz me there anytime as:
Tozag - 54 orc hunter
or
Wakeman - 38 human paladin
Brian Arnold Jan 4th 2006 7:26PM
I'm also on Cenarion Circle, as Tilthian - 60 NE Priest.
I've had some notable recent memories of PvP with Tilth.
I remember being in Thelsamar of all places, showing a friend some of the game mechanics (I'd just landed from a flight), when this 48 troll hunter shows up and starts killing guards. I was 52 at the time, so I dropped into shadowform and toasted him. Just as he went down, a 55 tauren shaman showed up, and somehow I beat him too! I was freakin' proud that day, and I even had an audience. The guy bought the game the next day. :)
I've also been ganked a time or two by an undead rogue, who then proceeded to cannibalize me afterwards. Nothing adds insult to injury like having your foe eat some of you after the fight.
The other night I was on my 33 warlock doing some playing, and I saw this scorpid and started attacking before I realized that it was flagged. Its 60 troll hunter owner came around the hill shortly after and toasted me.
Overall, I really enjoy the PvP experience on the PvE servers, because it's more controlled.

ok... so about 8 months ago or so... i was playing heavily on a PvP server, i was lv. 30-40 something Tauren Shaman. I hadn't received my mount yet, so i know i wasn't 40. Anyways, the day before i had gotten the recipe to make potions to make me invisible, and had made a couple, and i was wondering if it would ever come in handy when i really needed it.
Well, i found out literally the next day. I had just started wandering through Desolace, and i came across a small house in the north, where you get a few quests.
As i aproached, i noticed a couple of high level alliance, they were "??"'s so who knows what level they were. They were quite a bit of distance from me, so i waited to see if they had noticed me or not. At this point my heart was beating, because i wanted to see if i could actually get away alive.
Well, just as i thought, they started after me, and one of them started summoning their mount. I started running back north, and turned the camera to watch how close they were getting, which came very fast.
Just when i felt like they were a bit too close, i used my vanish potion. *poof* i was gone, i instantly changed my direction to the east and kept running.... it was the funniest thing they were scattering all over the place looking for me. My potion only lasted like 10-15sec's, but it was just enough time to get out of sight in a different direction.
That was quite entertaining for me.

Well my PVP experiences have been limited, but gathering 168 honorable kills in two rounds of Warsong with a 22 undead mage against an alliance party that hat at least 7 chracters of lvl 27+ was very memorable.
Most of my other experience were of being ganked in a low-level area by some bored alliance people. It's nice but on our server there seems to be the rule that most of the alliance have to team up with at least 3 level 58-60 characters to gank low-levels. Not very entertaining for us horde peeps to play - I can tell you.
Most annoying thing I've seen so far was a level 30 rogue who used to stealth around the Zoram'Gar outpost to assassinate the 20-25 horde guys. So far so good, we had a slight chance of getting him, it was at least halfway fair. After that guy killed my two friends - who were level 25 and 24, while I was level 22 - I managed to get my Tauren druid next to him. First I fairy fired him, to prevent his stealth. Then I healed some of my damage, shifted to bear form and began attacking him. When I had him at about 15 % of health a Nightelf druid unstealthed next to him, healed him and to top it off put some attack-spells on me. When our horde reinforcements came, we got to know that it was a level 60 druid. Talk about cowardice...
On the other side it's really fun to play horde...
...when we encounter a low-level alliance, we wave and go on. If someone attacks him, we get angry and normal yell at him "Why do you attack? Let him be, he's too low! What are we? Alliance???"
Okay I must admit I killed an ally 6 levels below myself just yesterday - but hey he came out and attacked me and I couldn't get away. Might not have been the brightest to attack a group of three horde guys level 22, 25 and 27 when you're just level 19...
...second time we came across that player, we waved and he backed away. Later on, he attacked us again and tried to run to the shelter of Maestra's Post hoping to lure us there. But really, how dumb does one have to be to fall for such a trap? Our level 27 shaman was responsible for another death of that guy because he terrified him so much that after getting a lot of damage from the shaman, he tried to run and was attacked by a mob...
...but what do you excpect from someone calling himself "Klobuerste" - which translates to "bog brush" or "toilet brush" or some such.

So I was fighting this 19 Paladin in Warsong Gulch. I was straight up pwning this n00b when he became invincible and healed himself. Paladins can suxx my bAWls.
LC_ Jan 5th 2006 9:02AM
So I was out farming gold one day when I decided to go after these two lowbies.
One I took down right away, then I turned to his friend, a level 10 Priest.
He put up a good fight, but I had ganked them with my Night Elf Warrior.
They did do a number to me, when all of a sudden an Undead Rogue stepped in and wanted to duel me.
I could have easily taken him down without much trouble, but he got a few crits in and then healed himself with either magic or a potion.
He must have felt "richly satisfied" afterwards, and I have been looking for him to this day.
I must say it was so embarrassing.

While I have a number of nice kills, I actually like it when I can't be killed by groups of Horde and they waste a lot of time on me.
Several times in WSG I've been by myself and surrounded by 4 Horde (I'm a Paladin) that are on their way to cap the flag. They come up and think it's an easy kill, but I manage to last forever and put some good damage on their cloth wearers. Of course, they don't do the smart thing and just blow by me. They'd rather get, what they think is, an easy HK.
So they attack, and I get a few crit-heals and I'm back to full health. They get my health low, and then I bubble and get back all my health again (I enjoy when dumb Horde keep attacking the bubble). I have a few more full heals and blessings up my sleeve and by the end, their cloth wearer is hurting and my team has arrived (usually from our cemetary).
The delay is enough so that the Horde get beat and our team has enough time to regroup.
Of course, there are some really good Horde groups that just decimate me too quickly to do anything, but that's relatively rare.
And I'm often by myself because I'm the last survivor of a lot of encounters.

Ok, I'll admit that I might not be justified in my actions, but it was sooooooo rewarding.
I have been ganked countless times. I mean ganked. I can count on my hands the number of times I have been attacked by ppl who actually who were close in lvl to me. I have been ganked by '??' Lvl horde so many times it makes me think that all the horde are ganking EXPLETIVES.
So anyways, I have a lvl 29 Night Elf Priest. Yeah, pretty easy to gank :P Well I had just come out of a great game of WSG. I started in SW, and it spit me out in Ashenvale. I had some new mail, so I was going to go to Astranaar.
I started running down to the main road, and there is a long single room building on your left, at the bottom of the hill. I hadn't explored it, so I went to the top of the ramp, and lo and behold, 3 horde, in the process of killing Sentinel NPC's.
I don't remember much. I don't remember the classes, but I saw my chance for sweet sweet revenge and I grabbed it with both hands. I'm sure this trio was out with a purpose, and I knew they had taken out at least 3, maybe 5 Sentinels, and I knew that those Sents weren't pushovers. The dust had just settled when I came upon them, and all 3 of them had less then 25% health. An orcish grin crept across my face, and my eye's lit all the more brighter. 3 cast's, and maybe 8 seconds later, Private 23 was facedown. A shield, a regen, and the same 8 seconds of pain caused Corporal 25 to feel my empathy. Just starting to get hot, I know, I just could feel Captain 29's twisted frustration. Like all good leaders at sea, he sunk with his vessel quest, down into the void.
I felt uninvited, so with the same brevity that I chanced upon the occasion, I departed on my path, with much justification in hand.

I once kept getting ganked in XR by this Ally Rogue hiding behind the tree by the Inn. I kept calling for help, but no one would believe me when I'd explain I had just come from a contested area and was flagged for PVP. After the fourth time, some level 60 spotted him and killed him in two shots. We proceeded to have all of XR corpse camp for a good 10 minutes. And sure enough, the dumbass came back and tried to rez just outside XR. Someone spotted him and what felt like the entire XR went chasing after him. I imagined him shitting his pants all the way back home.

I was in Desolace (Shadow Priest) and getting ganked by this rogue. Well, eventually he had a friend (a mage a few levels higher than me) show up to help camp my corpse. I decided it was time to run. I ran and as I was running for the Horde town I hit them with Shadow Word: Pain. They decided to keep running after me. I keep hitting SWP, and every time it would drop I would dot them again. They stupidly kept following me until they eventually died, and I made it to the Horde town
