Ghost Riders in the Sky?

I've seen a lot of strange things happen due to bugs in WoW; monsters
disappearing into the ground,
NPC's teleporting across the map, actually defeating a Shaman in PvP...but nothing holds a candle to what I saw tonight
during an impromptu Alliance raid on Splintertree Post.
When we arrived, the area was empty, except for one unlucky Undead Warrior. However, after killing him, instead of a corpse appearing in his place, a vision of the Warrior on Griffonback appeared! (see image).
The apparition remained there, flapping its wings, untouchable by us, until the player rezzed nearby. It was hands-down the strangest thing I've ever seen in the game, and my raid party thought so, as well. Anyone else out there having these hallucinations, too, or are we just eating too much Earthroot?

I've seen Griffon's as mounts before. The character was moving around the world as you would expect a player to do, except, they were on either a Griffon or a Bat (depending on which side you happen to be playing. Yes, I have seen both. I thought at first that it was a special kind of mount, but I came to realize that it was probably just a bug of sorts. :)

I have a screen also of someone on a griffon... Thought he bought a new mount and I wanted one! LOL! Either way. If wowinsider wants a screen let me know.

I was actually stuck on a gryphon in Westfall. In my screen, I was walking around like normal but in the screen next to mine, my girlfriend would see me on the gryphon. It's pretty funny watching my hunter's pet running alongside the gryphon.
Only way to resolve was to fly somewhere else and back, a logout didn't work.

I got on a Griffin in Westfall only to just sit there and watch it just hover in the air and flap it's wings. I waited... and waited... figuring it was just lag... but it never went anywhere. Finally, just for kicks I used my movement keys, and to my utter amazement I was actually controlling it. Man was it fast! Then WoW unexpectedly quit. It was worth it though.

Another funny experience was in the closed beta when things still looked pretty rough. Normally when you encounter a beast (say a wolf) it will run after you for a set length before it breaks off pursuit and returns to the original position. Well in the closed beta lets say you were running down a hill, once the creature broke off pursuit it would pull a "Matrix" style jump and land back on the top of the hill. Blizzard finally introduced pathfinding, and now the creatures walk. Shame.. it was a good laugh.

its not that hard to beat a shaman if your good. like me :)
