The Scarab Gate Opens!
The Scarab Gate has opened on the Medivh
server. Kalahad, a Horde player from Fury Guild finally rang the gong and won the race!Seriously, I have an alt on Medivh, and I was sorely tempted to jump over there and watch it open, but I felt like that would be betraying everything that I hold dear, so I funnelled all my energy into farming Thorium instead. Which wasn't nearly as cool, to be honest.

Skalagrim is in my guild, and (sorry to say) did not ring the gong. it was the leader of Fury guild, Kalahad, who had the scepter and rang the gong. Credit where credit is due, and all that :)
i was there that night, and the battle was spectacular. after the server crashes that is :(

I got an email from GameSpot today letting me know they have a video of the event:

You will need at least a basic (free) membership with GameSpot to download it. I can't wait until we get it opened on Durotan. At the rate we're going, it may be another month or so.

As a Medivh resident, it was pretty phenominal. We crashed the server 7 times with all the alts and I think a few earned suspensions. The gong ringer had to sit through a 2300+ queue which delayed the scheduled 12 midnight ringing until 1:15. To anyone who exercised restraint, we thank you.
As for the event, it was very cool, but EVERYONE is going to get to see the same thing on their servers. So I strongly recommend helping your server to the finish line instead of creating alts on another to watch.
