Breakfast Topic: Battleground queues
Even when playing at peak times, it can take forever to get into various BGs, especially if you're Alliance
and your server has few Horde players (or vice versa). Passing the time while waiting for BGs is becoming a fine art
amongst many of my fellow guild members, with impromptu trains around Ironforge, dressing up parties (I kid you not)
and fishing competitions being held to while those minutes away. Personally, I just do some auctioneering or tie up some loose ends outside of WoW, but there are some far more inventive ways to pass the time. What's your favourite pastime while waiting for battlegrounds? Do you risk travelling to a questing zone, knowing that you could get pulled back at any moment? Or do you see the queues as valuable city time?

I end up doing guild PUGs.
Then the raid doesn't finish before the Queue gets to me and I miss out.

Currently on Gurubashi when I play the AV queue tends to be about 1 1/2 to 2 hours. So i normally sign up for AB while i wait which does not tend to have a wait of over 15 mins at peak time with multiple AB up and running.
In addtion to that i'll hearth in a convinient location for what ever I need to farm at the current time be it rep, cash or certain drops. Then I hearth after queuing up and grind until ab pops. Normally it works out ok time wise and by the time AB is done hearth is up again.
Wash rinse repeat.

I play on Twisting Nether, Horde side. Even on Honor weekends the queue for Battlegrounds at level 60 is usually around 90 minutes for WSG or AB, and five to six hours for AV.
I queue up and quest, PUG, farm or whatever and usually log off before any of my queues pop. It's terrible.

I normally work on trade skills, fishing, cooking, mining, smithing that way if i get pulled its not such a big deal and i still end up with items i need. I play on Shadow Council Horde side. Im 41 and the Ques for AB and WG are stupid even on honor weekend. I was in for over 2 1/2 hours last night i just gave up and went to drink some beer. BTW if you are on my server send me a yell if ya want. Have fun all.

Out of curiosity, I signed up for the 30-39 AB queue on Feathermoon on a day off last week. 14 and a half hours later, I got disconnected flying into IF and gave up.
I levelled from 39 to 42, got my first mount and ran SM twice and Uldaman once. I also ate twice, showered, vaccumed, downloaded a Debian DVD image, installed it on my second comp, ran to the Kroger's across the street to buy some milk and bread and took two naps.

I usually start by leaving the queue and never joining a battle ground, that helps put an end to the wait.
I'll join a BG when Blizzard can take their head out of their ... and come up with a solution.
I remember back in the day when there was instant PVP to be had between TM and SS and nobody had to wait for a queue. BGs are crap. Great concept, horrid execution.

Well I play on Twisting Nether also but I rolled Alliance when I saw how many posts the Horde had on the Realm's forums. "30-39 Alliance join WSG" made it pretty easy for me to realize that the Horde were always the side waiting to queue so I rolled the opposite when I came to Twisting Nether.
Now my problem is that as a 59 Warlock I get so many invites to instnaces that I never BG. Sorry about that, Mojo. Hope to see you in the BG's someday.
