Breakfast Topic: Favourite instance
You've run it ten or twenty times and you're still not bored; the drops are good and you've mastered its mobs.
Solo or in a group, what's your instance of choice, and what makes it so good? The Deadmines would probably take the crown for me; despite being a low level instance, I managed to run through it first time with a seamless PuG, and now that I'm all grown up I revisit it for fun. On the flip side, The Stockades is probably one of the most boring instances I've done, but since it's the first time my druid got to tank an instance it holds a special place in my heart.

I'm only a level 41 at the moment but my favorite instance so far would have to be Scarlet Monestary. I like the way it's laid out and it's easy to make a quick run. My least favorite instance would be Gnomeregon. I can't stand that place.

Zul Farrek my favorite
Right now I'm loving AQ but only been up to the 4th boss in the 20man side. It could soon become my favorite

I am a 38 Warlock, so have only experienced a few. I loved the Deadmines, and hated the Stockades. It was so boring!!!
The Deadmines reminded me of the goonies. I love how the last past worked out with the Ship and all. Fun!

Shadowfang Keep. The first instance to open in the Alpha, it rocked then and it rocks now. Great dependable loot drops. Fun atmosphere and not often run (especially by the alliance). Awesome low level instance.

"Fun atmosphere and not often run (especially by the alliance..."
In fact, it's run so infrequently, I can't ever find a group to run it with on Gul'dan! It's pretty annoying. The problem with it is that it's so far away from civilization. WC is right near crossroads, BFD is right near the Zoram'gar outpost, but SFK is a bit of a hike from The Sepulcher.

I hate Gnomeragon seems to be a frequent sentiment! Scarlet Monastary is my favorite at the moment. Awesome drops, easy to navigate and not too stressful. Although I do feel bad killing the torture victims....but I don't know their backstory, maybe they were already evil before the torture. /shrug

I have a friend that solos it just to make a little money b/c the guys inside drop silver. you can run thru it a couple of times solo and come out w/ a little gold (according to my friend). I have yet to try to solo it. my char is still too low lvl IMHO to solo it.

My favorite for the longest time was the Deadmines. My first instance. The last time I was in any cave in an MMO was DAoC at release, which was crowded, tiny, and not worth anything. The Deadmines was huge, spacious, and very exciting, especially given the long quest string that gives you a sense of purpose for running it.
But as I've hit 60 and started running the high end instances, I have to say that I've modified it. My favorite three are now:
1. Undead Stratholme (there's so much to do, and it's so cool being in the city that you destroyed in WC3)
2. The Scholomance (I just think this instance is so much fun)
3. The Deadmines.

BBTW, Jennie, you spelled "favorite" wrong ;)

I hate gnomer, uldaman and WC with a vengeance. Anything that is difficult to navigate around, and can easily wipe, sucks.
That, and I've only completely run uldaman with one group - every other time I seem to get the group of people with sublevel intelligence, who get in to arguments and leave.
For favourite instance...I'd probably say Scarlet Monastery - Cathedral. When I first did this instance, and we opened up the doors, I vanished. I thought they were all going to aggro, and murder us all. So...sooooo many mobs.
BTW #9 (Mike), she didn't spell favourite wrong, she just used British / Australian type spelling (like me).

1. Shadowfang Keep
2. Undead Stratholme
3. Gnomeregan
SFK is just too damn cool. It's a haunted castle up on a hill. With Werewolves! 'Nuff said.
UD Strat: The whole undead plague theme in Warcraft is totally wicked. The mix between the medieval architecture and the undead buildings looks awesome. The last miniboss is called Ram(m)stein. And the boss is a deathknight!
Gnomer: It has robots. What more do you want? Would World Of Starcraft look like this?

#12 - I know all about "honour" and "colour" and "favour". I was just giving her a hard time :)
Mike Feb 16th 2006 9:02AM
... especially because I believe she mentioned elsewhere in a "wish list" post that she wanted localized dialect support for WoW, i.e. "honour kills" etc.
