If
you've been playing for very long, you've noticed that each patch Blizzard focuses on a single class to tweak and
(hopefully!) improve. While we all know that 1.10 will feature the priest review, the as of yet un-reviewed
classes (mage, rogue, and shaman) have been wondering who's next. Today Eyonix let slip that mages will be the
next class up for review. Mages, let's hope for good things in your future!

Damn. Well, good luck mages. Although I play a rogue, and feel we get seriously nerfed and mistreated, we'll get that review some time. I do think rogues and mages are the two most gimped classes.

Jeeze, I was just considering respeccing my mage! Now I got a free respec coming up, but probably not for another few months. And the "free" respec isn't really free when you have to buy back all the spell ranks of talents. So should I wait? I dunno.
Hopefully they will give all mages Improved Arcane Explosion, regardless of talent points. It's an essential tool in instances and Mages are almost expected to have it, even though it requires 15 points in arcane.
I also think they should move Combustion up the fire tree and Presence of Mind lower on the arc tree. PoM is far more useful.

they need to leave PoM alone on that tree. but i agree that combustion costs too many points.

I read that as saying that reviews for shaman, rogue, and mage are on their list of goals for 2006, not that they're all being done together. When Thundgot mentions patch 1.11, it looks like he's talking specifically about Naxxramas. But we'll see what happens.

I still don't understand how people can say rogues and mages are gimped. Try playing a paladin for a few days, and then tell me what the word "gimped" really means.
I've had me mage as my main for months now, and have retired my paladin. The mage has been such an awesome class, I assumed they had already been reviewed. They left the best for last (priest, rogue, mage and shaman).

yup... mages are far from gimped... only classes that could really give a mage a hard time are druids, shamans, and priests. ppl who really know how to play druids are the toughest for my mage... but then again there arent that many good druids out there... lol.
