New WoW Manga
For those of you out there who are serious lore-junkies like myself, the WoW mangas are like giving a sip
of water to a man dying of thirst. There is a little information in them, but it is surrounded by the mediocre writing.
I read the first book of the Sunwell Trilogy with a mix of eagerness and distaste, because the story was interesting and
there was some character development, but the writing style wasn't really what I expected or wanted.Well, mediocre or not, I have no choice but to pick up this new one, because I have a problem. Well, they say that admission is the first step and I'm addicted to WoW lore, so that's why I'll be buying the next book in the Sunwell Trilogy.

So is this WoW manga or Warcraft manga?
Anyplace have any samples of what we can expect before we go spending cash on it?

Let me pick a nit...

These books aren't "MANGA." They're normal western comics written by a western writer and illustrated by a Korean artist. MANGA refers to Japanese comics written and illustrated by Japanese creators. Tokyopop (a western company) likes to refer to everything they do as "MANGA" to try to confuse the kiddies (who love manga so much) into buying their books.

I work in a library and we get all these Warcraft Mangas and novels. You're right, these comic books are horribly written; like an afterschool children's cartoon of Warcraft.
The novels are much better and contain more of the lore. I'm reading The War of the Ancients trilogy right now, and it's packed with all the chracters and history that you see in WoW. Cenarius, Azshara, Illidan and Malfurion and the Well of Eternity. They are, however, very poorly written. The writing is heavy-handed and dull and they don't capture Blizzard's humor and style at all. But like you say, I'm a Warcraft junkie so I read it anyway.
The best Warcraft novel I've read so far is "The Last Gaurdian" about Khadgar and Medivh. Great book and a pleasure to read. And one of the new instances is set in Medivh's tower, where most of the book takes place.
The best place to go for an overview of the characters and history of Azeroth is WOWWIKI.COM. It's like the encyclopedia of Warcraft. It really makes the game a deeper and richer experience when you know the charcacters and lore.
