Flight Paths
Ever flown
from Theramore to Auberdine? I'd personally recommend not bothering - though the thirteen minute flight does
cover some lovely scenery, it's faster to take the boat back to the Eastern Kingdoms, and then catch another boat to
Auberdine. Flight paths across Azeroth sometimes seem odd - most of them are anything but a straight line, and
not all flight masters are connected in the most obvious way. (As an example, until recently you could not fly
from Western to Eastern Plaguelands.) Community manager Caydiem has announced some small improvements in this
area, including flight paths from Tarren Mill to Sepulcher, Ironforge to Light's Hope Chapel, and
the possibility of flight masters in Ratchet. Caydiem also hints at a
larger change - single-click from point A to point B without having to talk to the flight master at every
stop? We'll see!Filed under: Patches, News items

Silly as it seems (maybe) I love the flights, long ones too. I still rearrange my camera POV and marvel at the game atmosphere and the simple fact of playing instead of, for instance, being at the office working.
Also, on heavy instance and group nights, people can see I'm on a bird and therefore I get a real, no excuse chance to have a break, 13 mins, for instance, offers a bio break plus a sandwich and a quick phone call.

single click would just trivilize the game , why can't anyone wait a few minutes to travel ? is traveling that hard ? one time i had a quest that had me going between Ungoro and Auberdine
sure it was long flight but at least you get some time to soicalize a bit in the game

Well, I don't know about you, but I rather like this. I play a Tauren druid on the Spirestone server, and I've come to loathe the 9-minute flight from Moonglade to Thunder Bluff. And as a druid, I end up going to Moonglade fairly often. I've started hearthing back to TB rather than be put out of commission on a wind rider for 9 minutes. A shorter flight would be awesome. Though... what if they just made the wind riders faster? I'd be happy with that.

A flight path to Rachet?? Finally! As short as the walk from XR is, it can get annoying. My prayers have been answered...

The read on this is that you'll be able to travel thru multiple FPs to yer final destination with one click, no stops.. not that it'll be a teleport with no flight sequence...

indeed, single click isn't insta travel, that won't happen ever i expect and shouldn't have in my opinion. it's just as if you would have a travelmate that plots your journey if you have to use several flightpaths, i doubt it will go must faster then doing it yourself though. it's just easier then having to click yourself.

while I don't mind the flights that much, the single click thing would be really nice (after all, it sucks to come back from your bathroom break and still have to wait to get where you were going).
and a flight point in ratchet would be awesome!

I can say with great conviction, after having played both factions to level 60, that the alliance's FP's are seriously lacking. There is a lot of walking/riding time, whereas horde-side, you have FPs to every convenient locale. Case in point: Maraudon. Shadowprey Village versus Nijel's Point. Blackfathom Deeps is another great example. Horde has a FP along the Zoram Strand, just to the north of BFD, whereas Alliance has to travel all the way from Astranaar. Annoying as hell. So instead of creating a single-click feature (although nice), why not get working on improving Alliance-side travel? Or are the alliance positioned the way they are for a reason?

The Zoram'Gar Outpost is south of Blackfathom Deeps, but duly noted. Is there an Alliance outpost closer to BFD than Astranaar?
This happened to me last night and it was mildly annoying. I was questing in Hillsbrad and someone asked me to join a Shadowfang group. I said okay and then realized, "Crap, there's no flight path from Tarren Mill to The Sepulcher!" Now, the walk from Hillsbrad to SFK is not a long walk, really. The annoying part is that Hillsbrad is contested territory and I'm on a PVP server. So I got ganked twice (by the same ally, mind you) right outside of Tarren Mill on my way over. That was annoying.
