Patch 1.10 News: Priest Updates Revealed!

Community manager Eyonix has made a long post regarding priest updates to the priest class - and I have to say I'm thrilled to see them.  A new talent calculator is available here.  And if you're distressed, please stay calm - Eyonix has said that changes may still be made based on feedback from the public test release!  Changes are summarized after the jump.

Discipline

  • Wand Specialization is now a first tier talent.
  • Power Word: Shield now only applies a weakened soul debuff of 15 seconds without talents.  Improved PW:S will increase shield damage absorbed by 15%.
  • Martyrdom's focused casting effect now also adds 20% chance to reduce interrupt effects.
  • Silent Resolve now reduces threat on all spells (damage and healing) by 20%.
  • Inner Focus has been moved from requiring 20 points in the tree to requiring 10 points in the tree, and its cooldown has been reduced to 3 minutes.
  • Meditation has been moved from requiring 20 points in the tree to requiring 10 points in the tree, and now provides 15% mana regeneration while casting for only 3 talent points.
  • Inner Fire is now a 10 minute buff with a 50% higher armor bonus.  However, it wears off after the caster has been hit by 20 successful physical attacks.
  • Divine Spirit is now a 21-point talent.
  • Power Infusion is the new 31-point discipline talent.  It will increase spell damage and healing done by your target by 20% for 15 seconds, on a 3 minute cooldown.

Holy
  • Improved Renew only costs 3 talent points for the same 15% boost to renew.
  • Healing Focus is a new first tier holy talent that, for 2 talent points, will give all heals a 70% chance of not being interrupted by damage taken.
  • Spell Warding is a new second tier holy talent that reduces the target's spell damage taken by 10%.
  • Divine Fury is now a second tier talent and reduces casting time of Smite, Holy Fire, Heal, and Greater Heal.
  • Holy Nova is now an 11-point talent with no cooldown.
  • Blessed Recovery is a new talent that allows the priest to passively  regenerate 25% of damage done over 6 seconds after being victim of a critical strike.
  • Inspiration now gives the same bonus for only three talent points.
  • Holy Reach is a new talent that improves the range of Smite, Holy Fire, Prayer of Healing, and Holy Nova.
  • Improved healing now gives the same bonus for only three talent points.
  • Searing Light is a new talent that increases the damage of Smite and Holy Fire by 10%.
  • Spiritual Guidance is a new 21-point talent will passively boost the priest's spell damage and healing by up to 25% of their total spirit.
  • Spirit of Redemption has been redesigned - instead of passively healing players after the priest's death, it now allows the priest to heal mana-free for 10 seconds after death.
  • Spiritual Healing has been moved (from tier 2) and now requires a 25-point investment in the tree.
  • Lightwell is the new 31-point talent and allows the priest to create a "holy lightwell" that players can click on for healing.  The lightwell has 5 charges, and at highest rank, heals for 1600 health over 10 seconds.

Shadow
  • Shadow Affinity now costs 3 talent points instead of 5.
  • Improved Fade no longer increases fade's duration, but rather decreases its cooldown.
  • Shadow Weaving has been moved lower in the tree, now requiring only 15 points to start investing in it.
  • Improved Vampiric Embrace is a new talent increasing Vampiric Embrace's healing by 10%.
