While it may not be surprising that the US WoW
client does not work for EU servers (and vice versa), some intrepid gamers are bridging the international gap.
Gamer Pete Barr-Watson has come up with a
simple way to use a single Warcraft client to play on both sets of servers (with active accounts on each, of
course!).

The hard part is, of course, finding international copies of the game -- US retailers won't ship WoW abroad :(

but the US servers patch one day before the EU servers..
personally i installed in two separate folders.

indeed, you get in problems around patchdays. and i believed you had to do a little more, but not sure about that, perhaps not anymore.
also it wasn't that hard to find a us retailer to send it to europe when i tried long ago.
