Bugs, ghosts, and standard responses
Ever died and woken up somewhere... else?
AFK Gamer describes a strange bug in which death in Silithus meant becoming a ghost in Westfall--now that's a corpse run and a half.I've experienced something similar, randomly arriving in the Barrens after a death in Tanaris.. another time I died in Hillsbrad and stayed dead, the game refusing point-blank to bring me to life for any price. Somehow bugs involving death are the most frustrating, thanks to the limited number of things you can do when dead. Ever experienced any of these bugs? How did it turn out?

The most recent example I can think of is being attacked by a nonexistant tiger in Stranglethorn. It started damaging me at first until I ran back to the road. At that point I was still being hit, but was not taking damage. I could not attack it in return because it said another action is in progress. I finally made it right outside of Booty Bay when I got hit by all the damage I hadn't been recieving over the last few minutes. I died instantly a few steps from the graveyard. Of course I made the short walk back to my body and was not able to ressurect. I tried to log out and back in, but it said a player with the name already exist on the server, etc. I just gave up and came back like a 1/2 hour later.

I get the "invisible mob" problem all the time. I should probably start reporting them when they occur.
I've never had a problem so serious as dying and waking up somewhere completely unrelated, though. That would probably infuriate me.

I had a lovely experience a while ago when doing Blackfathom Deeps with a group.
An hour or so into the instance and I get wiped by a mob and my ghost pops up in the nearest graveyard in Darkshore - no problem. However, instead of the standard running back to the instance to resurrect, my body instantly resurrected in the graveyard without asking, and then instantly died again. My body was nowhere to be found - which was as it should be, with the body meant to be back in the instance. So, I wisp my way back to the instance portal, pass through and still don't resurrect. I float all the way through the instance to my group and I'm not there either. I leave the instance, go back to the graveyard and still no body.
Eventually I have to use the spirit healer in Darkshore but in the amount of time lost floating back and forth my group had to disband and I never did get to finish my quests...
And don't even get me started on the invisible mobs. There's tonnes of them around Ashenvale that attack you... grrr....

The only strange experience I've had was on the boat from Ratchet to Booty Bay. Some undead priest thought it would be amusing to MC me off the boat. However instead of just landing in the sea, I was falling for about a minute and ended up under Azshara. Yep, under the actuall land itself, I was surrounded by water but didn't drown and my map showed that I was pretty far inland. I had to HS out.

"I tried to log out and back in, but it said a player with the name already exist on the server, etc. I just gave up and came back like a 1/2 hour later."
That's completely normal, the game waits about 2-5 mins before allowing you to lgo back on again if you didn't log out in the 'right' way. No need to wait half an hour :)
On topic, have met a few invisible mobs, but that was because they had got stuck underground/in something. I've always been able to run out of aggro range so far!

I've had two interesting occurrances of this. The first was when I first started the game, I died on one continent, and came back to life on the other! I had no clue where I was, and all the monsters were level ??. Since I was new to the game it took me about 20 minutes to remember I could just hearth back to wherever I needed to be.
The other time was during battlegrounds, I died, and couldn't resurrect. No matter what I tried. Very annoying.

Nanatsusaya, I've had something similar happen. Weird things happen when you end up beneath the game's geometry. This will take me a while to unpack so bear with me everyone.
There are a lot of unfinished places in the game in the mountains between Dun Morogh and the Wetlands. You may have seen the Gnome airport, for example. There used to be a couple of ways to get up there but I have been unable to do it as of patch 1.9.
If you're careful and watch the slopes, you can explore a lot of the terrain up there and even make your way into the Wetlands. On the Wetlands side of the mountain there is a small isolated farm with a tunnel that looks like it would head into Ironforge or maybe up to the Gnome airport. When you get to the end of the tunnel, you can actually see through the geometry. It's like you're looking inside the mountain.
If you walk through the end of the tunnel, you will end up falling through more of the geometry and will eventually die. Here's where it gets really bizarre. If you come back to this place in spirit form and fall again, you get trapped in limbo. All of the landscape and geometry disappears and the only thing you see is the swirling spirit world vortices. One above and below you. The next thing you know you're actually moving through the world. I started off by going south and ended up in the Badlands until I eventually hit some body of water. I tried seeing if I could swim up and out but I was completely surrounded by water. It was so hard to get my bearings and I ended up using the map to tell me when I was moving laterally. Once I hit what would have been land, I was back in limbo again. I made it all the way up to Menethil Harbor this time around.
There was no way for me to get out of limbo. I ended up having to get a GM to help me. I then received a lecture about how going to unfinished areas is an actionable offense. My defense being that I simply walked there. If the terrain lets me get there, then that's not my fault.

Not too long ago I had nothing attacking me in the NE starting zone as a druid, I was just bleeding and being hit. I attacked back and it said "Facing wrong direction" so I turned till I found it. Then spun the camera around to find it. It was a boar with its back to me well out of casting range. I couldn't use wrath because it was too far away... but I could hit it with my staff. Actually happened yesterday.
Speaking of unfinished areas, anyone ever use a mage, blink out of VC and head to the cave on the left? Use Slow Fall about 5 seconds or so into the drop, swim to the surface and look for some ground. Travel far enough and you'll be in an area with floating trees, sparkled arches and spiked cliffs.

Last night in HU 10 man raid, our main healer died and when he released his corpse, he ended up in Ironforge....totally ruined the run, and everyone quit.

One time during an Arathi Basin battleground i was mind controlled off of the cliff by the Mill. After i died and my spirit released i was not allowed to be resurrected and the caster of the mind control still had controll of me. they ran me around the entire BG so i could not partake in the killing, so we lost the battle due to having a lack of players. it was a crappy bug and left me without play time for the entire BG.

Not a big deal I suppose, but just the other night I fell off the edge of Teldrassil. My body ended up on the slope of the tree and my spirit just kept falling right on past it. Very annoying because I couldn't (obviously) kill my spirit and end up back in the graveyard for rez.
Fortunately, after hiking around the base of this monstrosity for what felt like an hour, I discovered the portal to Darnassus. At that point, I hiked back to the graveyard. Again, not a big deal, just annoying.

Once, I died in the little cave to the south of Gnomeregan, and respawned in the tunnel into Alterac Valley. Sadly, I reported the bug and a GM moved me back. Nuts.
