Breakfast Topic: Game Over (redux)
Drakedog's graceful
exit made me think about leaving the
game as a concept again (although not something I'm planning on doing any time soon). The video shows two
things--the popularity of WoW machinima, and how easy it is to casually destroy everything you've spent hours
working towards. If you leave (or when you left), how will you go? Quietly? Via eBay? Or will you make a statement, solemnly destroying your epics (so you can't be tempted back), clad in the clothes you started out in, sitting cross-legged on the floor waiting for your doom?
Me, I'd probably run naked into an opposing faction city for laughs. I'm that kinda girl.

here's what will probably happen for me: My periods of non-play are probably going to increase, then one day I'l lprobably strip down and run into horde territory or city. Or maybe some instances. Then I'll just log off and cancel the account. I may even just skip the stripping down and running anywhere.
Then months down the road, I'll probably sign back up, play a month, and cancel.
Thats how my UO days ended, and thats how my WoW days will probably end, too.

My exit was the Ninjaing of Nefarian on Malygos. It was my guild's first Nef kill. I was sick of the elitist attitude and i was tired of the game and of guild politics. So, i went out with a bang.

I'll use the summon spell on myself...slip on my boots of escaping...and run through...into Oblivion.

I'll probably do what I did the last time I quit a game, too. Sold the account for $1200, then made a lowbie to login and chat with friends, but not really play. Make a half-hearted attempt to get back into it, then just not return, remembering months later to cancel the account.

I quit once before after my guild's first Rag kill. I had full devout and 2-3 tier 1 pieces. It was when MC was the hardest thing out there but it was still a breeze (except for Rag).
I DE'd everything and sold all my stuff and gave the gold to the guild bank and some people that helped me start out.
I just recently came back because of BWL and all the new AQ content. Playing with a naked priest is probably the funnest thing I've done in a long time. Make the came challenging again!
