Rogues on a PVP server near
you are planning on causing a little mischief on March the 22nd, which has been proclaimed "
Gank Day" -
so if you're on a PVP server, you may do well to look up the schedule and know what areas to avoid. To those who
responded negatively to the idea, forum moderator Coreiel reminds us all that
ganking
is part of life on a PVP server. But is this a little harmless fun for the rogues out there, or just misery
for the rest of us?

I thought this kind of thing was expected on a PvP server. Personally why I chose a PvE server especially since I'm new to the game.
Maybe someone can fill me in but I thought I read somewhere that if you kill a much lower level character you get dishonorable kill points. Can someone clarify and, if it is true, what is the level difference gives a dishonorable kill. I'm curious because some level 55+ characters kept wailing on some town guards the other day and I stupidly chimed in as a level 23 character. I hope they got a dishonorable kill for that.

I don't think the posts have been deleted - it was actually stickied in the rogue forums. However, the forums were scheduled to be down for maintenance this morning... though they should be up any time now, if things run according to schedule.
Tesla, I honestly don't know about the dishonorable kill thing. I think you don't get honor for someone a certian number of levels below you, but I'm not sure if it's considered dishonorable. I guess I should find out about this since I just rolled a new toon on a PvP server...

You only receive DKs for killing civilians. Civilians are quest givers or merchant NPCs that are about 10lvls or more lower than you.
Here's some info on DKs:

I think Gank Day to be a pretty funny idea, conceptually. It'll suck if it actually happens to me, but such is the life on a PvP server. As long as they don't resort to graveyard camping or really horrendous camping tactics, it's all fair game IMO. Might be a good day to find a partner or to rally the forces of your guild for some anti-ganking.

I think gank day is a good idea, and who says it has to be limited to rogues?
-Engineers have the invisibility trinket
-Hunters have feign death
-Alchemist have an invis potion
-Druids have a stealth form
-Shamans kind of do
This reminds me of the days of old before BG when we had huge battles at Southshore and Tarren Mill :)

Rad!
Please allow me to plug my own event. I am organizing "Gankfest '06" This Friday night at 6:00PM PST on Gorefiend, Horde side.
If any of you want to join the raid, it should be massively entertaining. Send a whisper to Fleshrip for an invite.
Any allies out there on Gorefiend, come meet us in Wetlands for a battle! Just make sure to /hug my dead body rather than /spit it, its all for the love!

Sounds like im going to watch my back alot, i dont mind rogues, usually i can see them with my fire totems so they only get in one good hit before i frostshock their ass, i just hate gnome rogues because as a tauren its hard to notice them, i was fighting a rapto and wondering why my life was going down so damn fast when i realised that two gnome rogues were killing me
