I myself beleive it's going to be *blood* trolls. Alliance has elves now horde will get elves. Horde has trolls and hopefully alliance will have trolls. Kinda fits since the trolls were driven out by the blood elves for land.

where's the Panderan option? I still think that is the right choice. Or somet type of trolls, like the guy said above.

That's a pretty good guess with the trolls. What we have to realize is that the new race can't change the fundamentals of how the game is played or how it functions. It will have to be a bipedal humanoid so the Naga, the Centaurs, and the Dryads are out. I don't see Blizzard redoing all of the equipment just to fit a race with less than or more than two feet. Murlocs could work although I don't know how helms would work with them. If it were Goblins, I imagine they would have to redo the way Gadgetzan, Booty Bay, and Ratchet function. They would no longer be neutral areas, right?

Where's the Panderan option? Yeah I know that there are none in WoW, but there's also barely any blood elves in WoW.

They gave horde a pretty race, now they are going to give Alliance an ugly/animal-like race...I have no doubt in my mind.

The only reason blood elves were added is to add a pretty race to the horde and increase horde population.

I definately feel that whoever the new race is, they'll be based in Kalimdor.

It started out w/ each faction having three races based on one continent and one on the other, Night Elves and Undead being "isolated" on Kalimdor and Eastern Continent respectively. Since the new Horde Race will be taking up residence in Eastern Kingdoms, I think that, to preserve the balance, we can expect to see a new Alliance race based in Kalimdor, which limits it to being likely Furbolgs, the bird-people (a la Timbermaw Hold, can't remember the name of those guys), or perhaps Pandaren.

Only time will tell.

Still think it may be Tauren... they already exist, they already have equipment models. Not sure if any of the story lines can/do support it. Since they're holding out this long to announce it, I'm starting to think it will have to be something entirely new in order to justify the time, but... they have a lot to do and having an exising model set (aka night/blood elves) would greatly decrease development time.
