Breakfast Topic: Favourite Addons
We've talked about addons before, and even invited
you to show yours off in our flickr pool, but here's another chance to
discuss an ever-changing topic. Given the problems upcoming in 1.10, now might be an
especially appropriate time to reconsider your mod choices. So, what are your favourite mods and why? Anything you can't live without?
My first foray into UI addons came fairly soon after I started playing WoW, with Cosmos. I then moved on to the Insomniax all-in-one package, and still use a custom variant on that, with Titan Bar and the Auctioneer set as must-haves. I'm also a big user of BibToolbars to keep my windows clean and organised, and MonkeyQuest to track those ever-important quests.

Mine would the the Discord Action buttons found here at http://www.discordmods.com they got several UI addons that allow for some cool customization.
I think everyone uses Auctioneer its a very useful addon.Rumor is, it wont work in 1.10 any truth to this?
CT_RaidAssist is a must for raids. Decursive is a Great tool for mages, Preists and such.
I also like EnchantSeller Organizes your Enchants, and reads your auctioneer data w/ your own set markup price and allows you to tell someone a price with some accuracy.

I use auctionsync, cosmos, and enchant seller. I only got them recently though and made it to level 49 without them. I could live without them, but I will miss being able to customize the interface.

I'd say I can live without them, but they sure do make my life easier. The most helpful addon I've used the most is most definately MonkeyQuest. From there I really enjoy the ArcHUD (I love GFX mods) and TitanBar (with the All Played addon). DamageMeters was pretty cool for instances (finding that your party's mage did 205k dmg, and the 2nd person down only did 60k is pretty weird). I also got CTRaid, which I've only used once, unfortunately :( The Titan War Bonds has always been helpful. And the BGSound and Text alerts are really helpful. And Feed-O-Matic has helped my Hunter so much. That little tiny pet icon is hard to notice when you're in an instance.

My favorite is one called WowEcon, which is sorta similar to Auctioneer, but I like the premise a little better. It gives you vendor prices for any item you mouse over, as well as disenchant percentages (and average value on AH), and of course an auction price based on the median price of any _successful_ sale. In other words it's a meaningful reflection of an item's value in the AH, as opposed to Auctioneer which can only really tell you the highest price it has seen lately. Also I've had some problems getting Auctioneer to work right on my machine, and it appears to slow it down. I also use several Cosmos mods like the modified quest UI and Clock, and I like Scrolling Combat Text except it also slows down my computer. Lastly I use CTRaid and GEM for raids and guild events.

When I first started playing, the first set of addons I cam across was Cosmos, and I've pretty much stuck with that for the past 9 months. I tend to use most of the addons in that package which aren't specific to any non-hunter class. As it is such a part of my game, I can't actually work out which I explicitly use more than others (they are all just "my UI"), although I think MobInfo2 and Archeologist are ones I miss when they break on patch day (these are the ones that tell me how many HP my current target has and what kind of loot they've given in the past).
I also use archeologist and its sister "informant" - I agree, though, that you have to take the auction values with a pinch of salt. I tend to pay more attention to what it reports about known bids. In other words, if it reports a median buyout of 10G, but only 5% of the items have ever been bidded on (at an average of 10s) then that will certainly affect what I ask in the AH (and may even prompt me to sell to a vendor).
I've just started using TitanPanel - not sure it gives me that much more than I had before (although I've only really played with the default package). I've also just found a useful set of hunter library functions (http://www.tkasomething.com/zorlenfaq.php). Have only been playing with these for a couple of days, but they have already given me some useful macros...

After getting frustrated with dealing with all of Cosmos' parts I switched to GypsyMod and I've definitely been pretty happy with it. There team seems good too, so I'm pretty confident they'll be able to get a 1.10 version out fast.

I can live without any mod except Benecast and MoveAnything. Otherwise, I use a ton of tiny mods:
Stunwatch (rogues)
DruidBar Prowler (druid)
Weapon Switch (rogue, shaman, warrior)
GypsyMod TitanBar FishingBuddy MapNotes EquipCompare AfToolTip Gatherer (generic)
For the most part, I just like addons that tweak my experience, not "uber-ize" it... But yeah, Benecast and MoveAnything are essential in the end...

MonkeyQuest is essential for me. Especially the easy level suggestions and the ?/? completion numbers is super handy. Plus, it just compresses the huge Blizzard log down to a few lines. I just wish there was a way to see if you had any completed quests when the lines are minimized. That way if I'm travelling through a city, I can make sure to finish up a quest at a quick glance.

I use BibMod and I just started playing around with TitanPanel and I like what I see. I just like being able to tweak the interface, move things around, resize things, etc. Having coordinates is definitely a plus in my book. I can't believe WoW doesn't make this a standard feature in the game. It's crucial to being able to move around in a world as diverse as Azeroth.
