Weekend Outages Plague Blizzard
As any of you who have logged on to the game this weekend probably noticed, there is a login message from Blizzard,
warning players that they are experiencing ISP-related outage problems. The explanation given by the devs is as
follows:"We'd like to make all players aware that at this time our internet service provider is experiencing significant complications, and as a result the playability on a large portion of realms has been adversely affected. Symptoms include but are not limited to lag, random disconnections and slow authentication. Our network technicians are doing everything in their power to work with our ISP so that this issue may be resolved as swiftly as possible."
Personally, I've noticed some lag, but nothing much worse than normal, at least not on my regular servers (Lightninghoof & Cenarion Circle). Have any of you been hit by these reported outages?
*UPDATE* - Five minutes after I posted that, I was booted from Lightninghoof & the world server went down. So much for good faith...

Yeah Friday nite on Cenarion Circle it started lagging a little, then a lot, the got DC'ed, then it was down, checked the WoW forum and they were lit up with reports of many realms being down. When it came back up, it wouldn't authenticate, then when I finally got in (after what felt like an hour -- hope I didn't really spend an hour trying to get back in), it was very laggy. After getting killed several times due to lag, I said enough was enough and haven't been back on this weekend. Hopefully they get it sorted soon.

The lag is getting completely out of hand. We had half of our raid DC on Vaelstraz yesterday, which caused a wipe. That, plus the queues, made us have to cancel BWL for the day and just farm MC bosses.

Erm...234ms in America makes people disconnect? Wow..
I live in Australia. I play on the "Oceanic" server. I have the fastest (non ADSL2+ (not available where I am, not a lot of people have it anyway)) connection available.
I average 300ms on a good day.
PS. I know I'm exaggerating about the raids disconnecting. Bad luck guys :(

This weekend was a shambles. Last weekend was the fiasco with the broken authentication system and now we're plagued with monster lag and disconnects after disconnects. I even tried setting up some alts on supposedly low population (and even new) servers, and still got kicked by 'scheduled server restarts'. Blizzard should be well funded enough to afford internet providers who have redundant connections. It's sad when you dream of 650ms latency just so you somewhat play the game.

My guild all started to lag and thier latency bars went yellow. All of a sudden i got a 6000ms spike! O.o
I'd give up new content if they'd spend time to fix their servers......well.....maybe not.
Just fix the goddamn servers!

if you read a second before flaming you see it isn't the servers which are having issues.

I took the weekend off from WoW to play Oblivion. I tried to check in a couple of times but never got past "authenticating."
Guess I didn't miss much this weekend, except for frustration and wasted time.
Hope they get things fixed before they launch 1.10.
