Breakfast Topic: Weekend Rantings
It's Monday morning and you're back in the real world after a hard weekend of raiding, questing and PvPing. What
better way to spend your time at work than by ranting about your weekend? Whether you spent the entire weekend repeatedly wiping on the same instance, you didn't make your goal of level 40 thanks to being ganked, or you couldn't play WoW at all, let's let it all out.
Personally, I was playing some low-level battlegrounds and it was a really frustrating experience. The team was filled with players who had rolled Horde "because Horde always wins BGs", not realising that players still have to work for the win. After playing a couple of matches and logging off in frustration, I came back later only to find people who were even worse. No amount of helpful explanation or guidance worked, and the Alliance must have been laughing their heads off.

My target was level 30 by Sunday night and I hit it, admittedly on Monday morning, and now am only a few k away from 31 :) The only complaint I have is that some nub spent the whole weekend undercutting my herb prices in the AH, costing me a good few gold :( When I casually mentioned in the trade channel that he was setting his buyouts too low, his reply was "I don't want to be greedy" :( I do!

I had a lot of fun this weekend despite server lag and disconnects. During the course of the weekend I:
-Hit 60 (w00t, its my first), and bought my last skill
-helped a guildmate get to the artisan enchanter trainer
-helped a guildmate quest in un'goro crater
-got smoked by Baron Charr
-had an incredibly satisfying RFC run with my 15 feral druid (friends and family joined me: 15 druid, 17 priest, 15 shaman, and 14 priest)
-killed firbolgs until I passed out (940 rep until honored!), and picked up a warlords card in the process.

I spent the weekend getting my troll shaman to 50, and making a female gnome rogue and getting 4/5 of the defias leather + mask... Damn you VC and your stupid drops... I got the cape twice and the cloth chest piece twice... But on the plus side, I got a new cat...

PVP? Ha. I gave that up long ago. While I agree that it gets your heart pounding, for me, it's a waste of time. Unless you have a group, a strategy, and a lot of time you may never be able to get the good rewards.
And that is the reason you lose - because people don't group and work together. Blizzard designed the WOW to work that way, the sum of the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts. This is how the "mature" players, whose reflexes aren't as good can always school the 14 year-olds who don't understand raid dynamics.

I was away from WoW all week! I'm having severe withdrawl symptoms, and I plan on immediately playing as soon as I get home from work today. I should know better than to go on vacation and not bring my disks with me...

I got my first flag cap. Wasn't actually my highest level char, it was my lvl 15 undead priest. Just ran straight out at the beginning, ran up the side entrance, popped fade (which I don't actually think does anything in PVP, anyone want to confirm?) then popped a shield and psychic scream which got the one person on defense, then just ran UNTOUCHED all the way back to base. I think it was about 2 minutes from beginning to end, just awesome. The Alliance had NO twinks at all. The second flag cap was right after I did mine, we already had a second guy waiting to pick up the flag. Got the two caps, then farmed them in the middle for about 10 minutes before we got bored and took the 3rd flag. 3-0 for the Horde.
