Extended maintenance...

I'm sure you've all noticed
that all US realms remain offline at this time. A message on the login screen stated earlier that they're
starting to try to bring the servers up one at a time, but I've yet to see anything come online. No ETA is given,
though we're supposed to get an update at 5:00 PM PST. I guess I didn't really want to go to Blackwing Lair
anyway... now where did I put that fishing pole...Update: Servers are starting to come online again around 5:00 PM PST.

I don't know why any guild would plan on a BWL run (or any large scale instance run) on a patch day.
BWL is laggy as it is, but it is ghost town on my server (Bloodhoof US) even on regular maintenance Tuesdays, much less a major patch day. My guild even canceled our usual Tuesday night ZG run because of the patch.

Yea kinda weird. My first Patch experience. I had a night of WoW planned but guess its shortened now.

WoW is dead. Blizz should find a priest. Ressurection is needed.

Running the launcher now, it says "Cannot connect to the News Server. Please check the network and try again later." Heh, I wish I could check Blizzard's network for them, but alas..
As of 5pm PST, I am getting a new message on the login screen (the message earlier simply said they were having trouble):
"We've identified the issue which caused todays (sic) maintenance to extend passed (sic) our original time-frame, and are bringing the realms up now. The realms are being brought up individually, so please wait a few moments before each attempt to login to your realm. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience in this matter."
However, my realm status widget is taking well over a minute to tell me that my realm is still down. It usually takes a few seconds, up or down. The WoW site is also flapping hard. I can only hope, once the realms are up, we won't simply run head-on into another sad experience like this past weekend.

Gah, this is aggravating. I'm sitting here next to my boyfriend, and he's able to log on, but I can't! Plus he has a guest account, so that makes it all the more aggravating that I can't get in!

Any info on the Oceanic servers? Regretfully, my main is on one of those. I'd even start a new character on a US server if it meant I could get to play just a little on my only day off this week.

Well, Just went on Sargeras with my mage and was on for about 5 mins and the [SERVER] Shutdown in 5:00 came up and im like greeeeat.
First patching experiance but is it supposed to be like this?

While sometimes a patch rollout will be a little rocky with more than anticipated downtime and typical problems for people with UI mods, this is worse than I've seen it before, after about a year of play.
