Where's the Weather?
Well, just like the rest of you, I waited patiently all day for the servers to come back online to see all the pretty
new bells & whistles in v1.10; especially the new weather effects. Unfortunately for me, the forecast on
Lightninghoof must have been clear with no chance of showers, because I ran all over the updated zones trying to spot
so much as a cloud & I saw nothing. How about you guys? Any of you storm chasers encounter any bad weather? Any rain in Ellywn Forest or snow over in Dwarf lands? Got any cool screenshots to share with us?

Went to Tanaris this morning to check out the same thing. No rain or anything but the "weather" was very cloudy, almost foggy. Nothing like the usual sunshine-y Tanaris we're used to.

Yes, at 6:30am eastern in Darkshore on the Argent Dawn server there was rain, and quite a bit of it too. You could even see it hitting the ground and making small splashes. Pretty cool honestly.

Nope nothing! Whent to Elwyn, Strangethorn Vale and Dun Morogh before I had to go work. No snow, no rain!

I didn't see anything :. Maybe it is because of videocard?

Quite depressing standing in the pouring rain in Grom'Gol waiting for the blimp...

It was raining in Booty Bay this morning on Garona. Very cool.

So wait, the weather actually follows cycles? I figured it'd just be constant or something... Neat!

i wish there was a debuff for being in the bad weather. SOmething like a decrease in speed and slow regeneration speed. Not much but maybe like 5-15%. Makes so when it rains it's harder to see and do things. That way more people go into the Inn and chat and drink and be merry =)

They really should integrate a forecast system in the game so we know what the weather is gonna be :-p

A guild mate reported a dust storm in Tanaris around midnight PST. I haven't made it to any of the weather zones yet myself but am excited to see if my computer will be able to handle it.

I knew I wasn't alone on that. No, 14 hours between the test and live servers and I haven't seen anything.

You have to enable it in the Video options panel... something like Weather Intensity

The only thing I have noticed is clouds slowly moving across the sky. I've only been playing a short while, so forgive me if that was there before and I just hadn't noticed it. But it would be nice if there was some inclement weather in all the areas that have weather (reading the patch notes I guess weather fronts don't travel across regions in Azeroth) just to show off what the effect look like. Then Blizzard could have blamed the patch problems on the rain. Like Milli Vanilli.

On EU (German) Server "Todeskrallen" we had a really soggy rainy Auberdine with a little fog afterwards! Really nice!

When I died, misty clouds covered the sky.

I thought the death graphics had changed as well but then everyone in my guild said I was wrong. It used to just be all gray and now it's more silvery and creepy looking with the clouds moving. Have I gone mad or is my guild just trying to torment me?

You can turn the 'death effect' on or off in your video settings. One of them is full black and white, and the other is color. Perhaps that option got checked or unchecked accidentally?

Thanks, Elizabeth, that's exactly what happened. I was playing with some settings to try to minimize lag and it just happened to coincide with the patch. I = wicked smart :-)
