New Alliance race: the latest rumour

It's all been a bit quiet on the new Alliance race front as of late. However, this image (courtesy of the forums) will help stir up some of the rumours again: it's a very good Photoshopping, in my opinion, but it may spark a few seeds of doubt.
Of course, as several other people have said, if the race is Murlocs then I'm switching back to the Alliance.

Maybe it's just me, but on the copy of my WoW on that screen.. it has a little "Add Ons" button on the bottom left.. Or maybe that's just because I have add-ons. Maybe it doesn't show up if you don't have any (makes sense).

I noticed the background looks like the Swamp of Sorrows....that doesn't really make sense for their starting area. That makes me think its fake

i would roll a murloc in a heartbeat. the character animations will pwn -- think warrior charge... "muuuuuuurgle!!!!" ahahaha

Another tiny race that's hard to target, making a total of 3 for the alliance. To say nothing of nightelves and their shadowmeld. No matter...we horde will still pwn you in WSG and AB...even with marginally lame racials like stomp and beserk. :P

Wait... what? I love my stomp! :( I love it a hell of a lot more than friggin' Diplomacy. Boy, that really helps on the battlegrounds, when you ask the Tauren Druid to hold up and give the flag back.

Well if you have looked at the WoW website on occasion they will make some article regarding the Murlocs. Like that one about them being more advanced than everyone really thought and that they have a vast civilization that is coming up from the sea running from something.

If you look at the mythology of the Warcraft universe, far and away the obvious choice for Ali is the Dranei. After all, the expansion will include the Outworld. And they hate the Orcs.
Blizz did make the post about murloc 'developments,' though. The morluc is kind of a de facto mascot for the game, so they may feel that the fans would enjoy playing as murlocs.
Who knows, the new race may be something totally unexpected.

Well if there will be no Pandarian, because of the Chinese, then the new race better be pretty fricken spectacular... Dranei or Murlocs ... We'll see...
