Thoughts on 1.10 So Far
Now
that we've all had a (free) day or so to experience some of the changes in patch 1.10, people all over the net are
starting to weigh in. A lot of players are, as to be expected, pretty disgruntled over the extended downtime &
repeated outages, and some of the early reports from folks who have done the re-vamped instances have reported little
noticable changes. And me...I still haven't seen a single raindrop. Not to mention the little incident with my corpse
last night. So, does anyone have anything positive to say about v1.10? Has any better loot dropped in the reworked dungeons? Been caught in a cool rainstorm? Found you can now rock the house with your re-built Priest? Give us some good news, people...

I'm finding Backstab a lot harder to hit, the game seems fussier about exactly what "behind your target" means. A few times just now in STV I was standing on the damn tiger's tail and the game still wanted me to be BEHIND my target. However when it hits it seems to crit more often. I may well be imagining both of these changes, though.
Haven't seen any weather effects yet (only played 1.10 for about two hours though so not that big a deal) but my guildies have - "cool, it's raining like LANCASHIRE in un'goro", heh
new flightplans = super awesome

5 man scholo was a piece of cake. they seem to have removed the challenge.

Strath run, three Tier0 set items for paladins showed up. You can imagine that I was very happy as a shaman. *hehe*.
My beloved "Zulian Defender" shield's size has been reduced by around 50% and now looks like a cheap toy made by drunk goblins in Gadgetzahn.

After fumbling with my UI and trying to figure out what happened to some of my spell icons, I was happy to find that I could respec for free on my 36 Priest (since I am broke!). I wish I would have respec'd a long time ago because things would have been a lot easier (maybe not a lot, but easier non-the-less) if I went Shadow in the first place. I haven't seen any any weather changes yet. I think we've had more rain in Phoenix than in Azeroth in the past couple of weeks. No res issues yet.

Deathbone!
For a pre-MC tank, that set is just pure bliss!

1. New flightplan UI: Absolutly brilliant.
2. Weather: Stupidest thing ever. Way to add more lag to an already laggy game.
3. Druids: Still not fixing the root/snare break stuff makes me mad.
4. Armor Quests: A little confusing because I don't know how to get the quests...but I like the fact that I don't have to be in an end game guild and raid every night just to get Tier 0 and Tier .5 armor.
5. Lag: Sucks as usual.
Overall it was an ok patch, nothing on my characters got changed too much. Just wished they hadn't of nerfed enrage about 3 patches ago. :(

Indeed... I had some troubles with my corpse last night as well... *mumbles something about ogres*
Overall, I haven't seen any weather (though I did turn it down because my laptop doesn't need to extra strain), I'm really happy over the flightpath change, and I don't play a priest so I don't really care what they did to them...

Well I'm pretty new to being a priest - but my level 14 priest is definitely playable now. Before 1.10 I used to pull aggro like mad. Just my being there used to be enough to get aggro that my friends (level 18 rogue and level 15 hunter) couldn't get off me even though I didn't do anything. Now they can even snatch away aggro if I do some attacking.
I was on the brink of ditching the character (yes THAT early in the game) but now my faith in priests is restored. ;-)

toolmonkey: Go to the throne room in IF, there is a girl there with a quest that will start the chain for your upgraded armor.
For the record, I only found this out by asking a guildmate, so they definitely didn't make this as discoverable as they could have.

My discipline-specced priest who had a hard time handling more than one of anything just offtanked 4 level 27s for a hunter with no problem. Improved PW:Shield is niiiice. Also having fewer mana problems thanks to the reduced heal costs, even without mana conservation mods that were all nerfed by the patch.
I don't raid, so I don't have those problems. No corpse problems here, either. And now 20 hours into playing patch content - about 19 1/2 of it spent in supposedly weathery areas - without seeing any weather, except one night there was clouds over Gadget and another night there wasn't. Does that count?

the new flight path interface with connecting flights makes it alot easier and i saw some rain in feralas.

Improved vampiric embrace is a great (and mostly unnoticed) new ability. As a leveling 39 shadow priest, this keeps me very effective as a healer in instances. At level 39, Shadow Word: Pain becomes better than 1/3 of a renew on everyone in the party, which can be boosted to 2/3rds by a mind flay. And every mind blast is 1/3rd a prayer of healing and takes a second less. I think it's an improvement to aggro management as well, since it seems to only incur hate from the targeted mob, unlike healing spells which every mob notices. Also, just the fact that I get to cast offensive spells at all in an instance is nice.

I rained in Darkshore. No vendors selling unbrellas. Ruined my hair.
Has anyone seen snow? Is it a real Blizzard?
Still get occasional vendor lag.
A little movement lag. Does this mean I'm going to need another gig of memory?
New flight plans are great.
Screwd up my priests talents reasigneing them. I wonder if there isn't a way to make assigneing TP's less final. After all the game asks questions like "do you really want to replace +24 armor kit with +40 armor kit".
My locks VW doesn't seem to obey as well. Instead of attacking when I say to, he stares into... the void?, briefly. Then "oh, yeah, back to work".

The re-designed Feedback (human priest racial) is complete garbage, the old one was useless but the new one is just embarrassing. On the plus side, Desperate Prayer is on a very nice 10 minute cooldown now (down from 30 minutes).

ditto what Janae said -- confirm difficulty with backstabs even when i'm clearly positioned just behind a target. it is nice they made blind unable to be dodged or parried, though, b/c i swear it never landed in PvP before (okay, almost never).
