WoW Moviewatch: World of Computercrash
Alright, I get ticked off when I'm playing video games just like anybody else, and there have been dozens of times that
I wanted to pound my keyboard into a pulp & toss it out the window...but unlike you & me, this kid actually
does it. I haven't seen this much unbridled rage since Howard Dean; I guess Ritalin hasn't made it to certain parts of
Europe yet.
Have some earplugs ready for this one...

Ah, You Tube is down for maintenance. Sorry to bother you.
Dave Apr 5th 2006 2:27PM
Oh the irony. Did you guys go into a fit of rage when it didn't load?
Uh... That was kinda scary.
Azagath Apr 5th 2006 5:45PM
wow...
I never buy into that "vidoe games make people violent" crap, but this is reeeeaallly bad. God help us if Jack Thompson ever finds out about this thing. This kid seriously needs some help.

What exactly does this have to do with WoW?
Veronica Apr 5th 2006 6:52PM
this is pretty funny, but i've gotta ask... why is he videotaping himself? whenever i see footage like this, it always screams: "someone wants to be a minor internet celebrity for doing something crazy."

Isn't that the german guy from the "metaller" clip that went round a while ago?
If so then yes, desperate for attention.
Damir Apr 6th 2006 12:28PM
Actually I can't understand what this german kid screams, but I pressume it's log-in problem for him. Also, I don't really know is it a WoW log-in problem or any other game, but this is very disturbing. As someone said before me, we all gonna have a problem with Thompson if he see this. Even if it's fake...
The truth is that games, and behaviour of gamers changed since I became a gamer (20 years ago), and all this "entertaining" activity going in a scary way. Nobody can persuade me that games today don't have stressful influence on kids same as TV war reports, violent movies or any sex violence movie clips available for download all over the internet. Simply, virtual status in MMORPG games became a matter of life and death in kids society. I don't say that we must make a sanctions to gaming same as china did, but we must introduce new concepts of gaming that will connect a real world outdoor activity with virtual one, just to encourage kids that beside virtual items, virtual gold and virtual emotions and friends, on this world, also existing a real ones. Otherwise, a whole society will suffer from new home-dweller zombies generation that are coming. Don't be affraid that some kid (like this one) will chop you in a head on the street same as he saw in WoW, or it will hit you with a stolen father's car as he saw in GTA, but be affraid that soon you'll be alone outside. Alone in a park, pub or even on the street, cous' all people are sitting at their home in front of their computers (consoles) and fighting for virtual property and making their lifes virtual.
Questions about virtual property is more serious than we think. It's a matter of existence on world that we know in modern society. We'll erase everything that we made during this thousand of years, abandon it and relocate to a place where we must start everything from the beginning. It's insane, cultural suicide.
So Blizzard, stop making new items/quests/lvls/creeps, start making a whole new ideas with whole new concepts. You and "creatives" like you hava a serious responsability, don't you know that?

While my german isn't perfect, basically I think he indeed is first screaming to start the game, or perhaps waiting in some login queue (I can't tell if it's WoW or not). At the end he seems to be actually ingame, and killing one guy, then probably getting killed himself.
I couldn't help thinking that I wouldn't want to run into this guy in a dark alley in 15 years. If he hasn't annexed Austria yet by then.
marten Apr 6th 2006 6:57PM
This has nothing to do with WoW. In fact this guy fairly clearly says right at the start 'Ich Will Unreal Tournament Spielen'.
marten Apr 6th 2006 7:05PM
By the way unlike some commenters I sortof doubt that this kid is symptomatic of 'gamer kids'. I've actually operated a fairly popular unreal tournament server. Things aren't this bad. This kid just is just scary in general. If he were born say 100 years ago, he would be right on track to connect to Austria.
