More Rumblings About the Weather
Well, I still haven't seen one single snowflake. not a raindrop...nothing. I've been running around Ellwyn Forest
& Stranglethorn Vale all week, and it's been dry as a bone the entire time. And I even bought a nice, new umbrella
for the occasion...I guess there really are weather effects in there somewhere now, though, because MTV.com has a lengthy article on the new weather system, with some interesting bits of behind-the-scenes trivia about it from the devs. Five years in the making? Great, but can I just see it for five seconds, please?

It's there. I've been rained on in STV. Nice effect, but it made the night even darker.

hang out in elwin forest. Try turning up your weather effects in the game options.

I witnessed light snowfall in Dun Morogh the other night. It was quite beautiful... First, some sort of light fog appeared over the course of 30 secs, then a few single snowflakes fell, then a few more. There even were some dark'ish clouds in the sky.
Quite nice, quite peaceful.
I think using the weather effects sparingly is a good idea, so the "wow" effect (pun intended) won't wear off that fast.
That being said: I wish I'd see rain one day. Or a full-blown snow storm.

You just have to be there at the right times...I've found evening CST produces some semi-regular effects. I've been through rain in Ellwyn, and Silverpine, and I've had it snow on me in Dun Morogh.
What's wierd is going from the border of one region which has weather, to one that doesn't...
Though I suppose we get enough of that kind of thing in real life too. I've been through downpours which become clear skies in about 20-30 feet IRL.

It poured in Un'goro crater when I was there. Was a great effect.

I saw a duststorm in Tanaris the other day. Something about it made the environment that much more real, somehow.

I saw rain in Goldshire once... and that is the only time I have seen it anywhere.

Ever since 2 days after the patch, I've seen rain everywhere on Eitrigg. Feathermoon and STV had lots of rain, not to mention gadgetzan has tons of sand storms.

Snow in Alterac Mountains and Winterspring.

It rained for quite some time when I was down in Un'Goro. The effect was better then I expected and enhanced the tropical feel of the zone. Other then that, I might have saw some fog in a few other places.

I've seen it in a few places now. Rain in Booty Bay was the best yet. The sand storms in Tanaris are more like dark blurs, but you get the idea as the particles whir by. I've also seen a similar blur outside of IF while flying by on a Gryph - I'm guessing it was snow.
It's there, but its a purple drop. ;)

I've seen rain twice in Elwynn Forest. I wasn't sure how I felt about it, since it hampers visibility, but it is a nice effect. I agree that they're being smart in using the effect sparingly, though.
