Breakfast Topic: First loves
How many characters did you go through before you
settled on one to take to 60? Is your first your only character, or have you hopped from class to class and race to race
before you felt comfortable? The first character we create can hold the fondest memories; we made newbie mistakes together, we learnt the game and explored the world. On the other hand, sometimes mistakes made as a newbie can have far-reaching effects; especially if that high-powered guild leader is someone we accidentally stole a mob from who still bears the grudge. Unlikely, but there are times we wish we could rewrite those first bumbling steps, go back and give ourselves all the expertise we have now.
My first character was, maybe predictably, a Night Elf. I chose a Druid because shape-shifting sounded unbelievably cool, and after a few nasty experiences with spiders and getting lost in Teldrassil, I made it to Darnassus, then undertook the pilgrimage to Ironforge. After leaving the character there for months so I could play around with everything else the game has to offer, I recently dusted her off and it's a lot of fun coming back to that very first creation, even if it does mean dealing with a bank full of rubbish and extremely ill-suited equipment.

My first toon was a dwarf priest. I took him up to about lvl 17 with mining and blacksmithing as his skills until I realized that he could use just about nothing he'd be crafting. I re-tooled to tailoring and enchanting, but it was a little late in the game. Plus, soloing with a low-lvl priest on a PVP server can be rough.
I rolled a orc warrior on another PVP server and he has become my main. He's up to lvl 38, just got his whirlwind axe and is on the precipice of getting his mount.
There has been a world of difference between the two characters, and not just because one's horde and one's alliance, although that certainly makes a difference. For people that take their first character all the way to 60, I salute you. I don't think I could do it :)

My first was a female human mage. Why human? Well, just a n esthetical choice actually. I have played Lineage before Wow and it was hard to switch from my fairy looking-like mage there to anything else than human here. She is level 27 now, and I still take her out to a walk from time to time, when I begin to miss the mage play style (my main is a night elf rogue).

My first was an undead human mage, and I hated it. So I created a human female rogue. Nice, got to lvl 16, but wanted to try other stuff. Got to lvl 26 with a female night-elf hunter. Thats when I created my female human Paladin, who is somewhere around 53 now. Now, having hit 53, I started to get the wanderlust again, and have created a male tauren druid, male undead warrior, female gnome warrior, female gnome warlock, and another female gnome warrior! All these are around lvls 5-16.
My Pally is still my "main" tho.

My first character was a human mage I made back in November who is only level 30. My main is an undead warlock I made a couple of weeks later who is now level 57. I

I had a Druid, Paladin and a Rogue, before I finally leveled a Mage to 60.

My first character was a Tauren warrior, which I leveled to about 5 before I switched to a NE druid which I got to 7. I didn't like Mulgore and I didn't like Teldrassil very much, so I made a female undead warlock and discovered how much fun a warlock can be and how cool the undead starting areas are (I jumped for joy when I saw my first abomination :) This one I leveled all the way to 60 and never regretted my choice of race or class.

I had a lvl 7 Dwarf hunter but deleted him and made a Human Warlock when he got to 40 I made a gnome rogue and got her to 60.

My first character was a *drum roll* Night Elf rogue. Then I rerolled the next day to be an undead rogue. Then I deleted that when I got it to lvl 10 cuz i found out rogues weren't for me. Undead mage ftw!

Started WoW a few days after quitting EQ2, so i already knew about the basics of MMO play, and knew that the life of a tank was for me. rolled an orc warrior and never looked back, am now lvl 60, the MT for my guild and just got my epic mount. treats. recently decided to try out a character who wouldnt get owned by every single other player in the game at PvP, and the result is a 38 undead warlock who i love to bits, but i still play my orc most of the time

I watched the opening cutscene for the game and was like "yep, that settles it. Dwarf Hunter it is." And as I leveled up in Dun Morogh, taking in as much of the world as I could, I did all those RP-type things that I'd never do nowadays. Example: I would actually buy the flint and tinder, head out in the snowy fields, annihilate a few boar and then work my cooking skill up under a tree during the long Dun Morogh nights. Despite the geekiness, the simply ability to do things like that really hit home.
About level 20, I rolled a Human Warrior which, by level 10, was impossibly hard to play if you don't understand how gear-dependent Warriors are. I actually shelved her for a good month or so before I realized that there was an auction house that you could get good gear from. Well-funded by my Dwarf Hunter, I bought some decent stuff for my warrior and ended up leveling her all the way to 60, but not before I had a good 8 characters on the same server. Still, my Human Warrior is my baby and I haven't forgotten her.
Now, I have a second level 60, a night elf rogue. And things are good.

First EVER was a Tauren hunter during Beta. After Beta it was a long while before I found time to start playing again, in which a Human Rogue was born. Not for asthetics, but for mace, diplomacy, and perception. A mace rogue who can better see other rogues. somewhere around 30 I took a break and brought a Tauren Druid to 20 while waiting for a friend to catch up. Then it was back to Rogueiness till 40. I now have a Human Female Warlock at 24 and my rogue now stands at 44. I've tried other classes but these and my new Tauren Hunter are what I've settled on.
Recently I've learned to balance play time with a couple classes cause if I play one for too long I tend to wander and leave them all together. I have the rogue, human lock, and tuaren hunter; looking at rolling an undead lock. 3 mains and 1 alt, not 1 main and 3 alts for me. They'll probably all even out and near 60 the same time.

My first created character was a N/E warrior and got him to somewhere in the 20's, but a friend of mine was on another server so deleted him. I then started a Human priest and have him to 57 now. I really enjoy being a priest, really seldom I have a problem finding a group. I have some other alts that I am working on: lvl 15 Dwarf Priest, lvl 14 Gnome Warrior and a lvl 6 N/E rogue all on Thunderhorn server.

I made my first character, Ahahni... I used the "randomize looks" feature because I like the idea of random looks, because people don't get to pick their looks in life.
I made some alts, but she is my main. Right now she's level 25 and I intend to take her to 60 and beyond. :)

My first character (about 2 months after the game released) was a human warlock. I got him to his mid-30s (and eventually to 40), then started a female NE hunter while waiting for my friends to catch up. While getting her up to 56, I started a human warrior-> 38, a NE druid -> 36, and various rogues/priests/mages/pallys to around 20 before deleting those guys.
Eventually I quit (and 2 months later started up again), but I had deleted all but my NE Hunter... Now that I'm on a different server, poor Elis is wasting away back on Uther...
Oh, and my warlock was a punk-ass... I hate Duskwoods because of him... (though on a positive note, my orc warlock is awesome... maybe because he doesn't have a cleft-lip and peasant syndrome...)
In the end, I'm now playing on the horde, and I've started all my old characters over on a different server... except for name changes... (damn you whoever took Elis on Scarlet Crusade!)

First character i rolled was a Tauren Warrior, i loved being able to kill anything i came across as i merrily levelled all the way to 60 at which point i veered away from the bore of being a warrior in PVP and became MT for a guild.
since hitting 60 i have also taken an Undead priest to lvl 51 and an Orc Rogue to level 15 and climbing fast. It has always been horde and i still love my warrior the most!
Linkimus Apr 13th 2006 6:30PM
My first char was a Dwarf Rogue. Rogues are great but not the best to start out with, got him up to 18, would have been higher if I hadnt wandered to Westfall and started doing green and gray quests LOL. My roomate started playing too, so we started new characters. I made a Tauren Shaman and got him up to about 23 before my other roomates started playing as well. We all started new characters on yet another server, and I rolled Linkimus an Orc Hunter. He quickly became my main, I even made the long trip to Darnassus for an Owl as a pet, still have the same pet at 45. I miss my Shaman tho and hope they start open transfers soon, I want to bring him over to my main's server.
