I watched the opening cutscene for the game and was like "yep, that settles it. Dwarf Hunter it is." And as I leveled up in Dun Morogh, taking in as much of the world as I could, I did all those RP-type things that I'd never do nowadays. Example: I would actually buy the flint and tinder, head out in the snowy fields, annihilate a few boar and then work my cooking skill up under a tree during the long Dun Morogh nights. Despite the geekiness, the simply ability to do things like that really hit home.About level 20, I rolled a Human Warrior which, by level 10, was impossibly hard to play if you don't understand how gear-dependent Warriors are. I actually shelved her for a good month or so before I realized that there was an auction house that you could get good gear from. Well-funded by my Dwarf Hunter, I bought some decent stuff for my warrior and ended up leveling her all the way to 60, but not before I had a good 8 characters on the same server. Still, my Human Warrior is my baby and I haven't forgotten her. Now, I have a second level 60, a night elf rogue. And things are good.
