Shaman Review Revealed
Eyonix has posted notes on the Shaman changes planned for patch 1.11. Expect a talent calculator in the next few days, but for now you can see them summarized in text. Other than a single dark note - windfury attack power reduced (to bring it in line with other weapon enchantments) - the review sounds like a good one. What do the shaman players in the audience think?Filed under: Shaman

Everything is good except for the windfury nerf. That is no good at all. Merging totem improvement talents is HUGE, and will make shamans much more viable in instances. GJ blizz.

I'm reserving further comment on the windfury change until I see how bad it is. It's early yet to assume the worst.

I think they changed windfury so it ends up being the same after you put talents into it. Otherwise, that review owns unbelievably hard.

So the mages lose their next-spell-guaranteed-crit talent, and shamans keep theirs. Plus their next guaranteed-crit spell will be mana-free. The mages are gonna be pissed!

Ha, and we all thought this patch was the mage review.

As if Shamans weren't a pain in the ass already, all I see is Mana cost being reduced and spell durations being increased. Seriously, sucks for non-Shaman. I guess it continues to prove that Blizzard engineers have favorites.

Something important to note these changes are designed to make the Shaman a more viable PvE class. They are already a great PvP class (notice how none of thier good PvP stuff except windfury which is being toned back?)
I really like the changes because its gonna make me much more useful in dungeons which is where I spend a lot of my time. Also they are really cutting back on "wasted" talent points. Each point you put somewhere is going somewhere productive. I dont mind the windfury tone back (I think its incredibly powerful currently). Im excited to get my hands on a calculator.

Anybody who complains about this review and plays a shaman obviously can't read. Granted, I can admit that certain problems have been overlooked, like totem mechanics, but superfluous point spending has been eliminated, and ALL of the trees have been buffed, save for windfury, with will probably end up doing even more damage than before with proper specc'ing. People saying this review is bad based on the possible nerfing of one ability have something seriously wrong with them.
However, anybody who says that shaman aren't overpowered now is a jackass and a liar.
