Breakfast Topic: Worst Death
While you may think that no death is a good death, some are definitely worse than others. I can pinpoint my least favorite immediately - it was a full party of mid-40s players running through Jintha'Alor to finish making Zul'Ferrak mallets. The final pulls as we approached our goal were level 51 elites, and quite challenging for our under-leveled group. We finished and started heading out, to be met with respawns. I, a cloth wearer, was taken out pretty quickly, while the rest of the group managed to run, and keep running, to safety. I must say that extracting myself from this temple, swarming with angry trolls, was quite interesting. But there are still other scenes that come to mind - instance runs gone wrong and particularly underhanded PvP tactics. What about you? Do you have a least favorite encounter with your friend the spirit healer?Filed under: Breakfast Topics

When i was a level 20-25 questing in Hillsbrad, I think i saw the Spirit Healer there more than any where else i've been in the game(I'm a level 47 mage). And as a mage I see the spirit healer alot.

I wouldn't necessarily say I have a bad death, however I do have a kind of funny one. We had a bad pull in MC while trying to get the pups away from Luci, we didn't pull the pups back far enough, and luci got aggroed on us. At this point, our raid leader just said to run up on luci and wipe. Being a hunter, I'm not too strong as a melee, so I ran in knowing I would die. Quickly, everybody got downed.. but I wasn't. One of our mages was mind controlled and knocking everybody out, while I simply was running around luci in circles melee'ing with my Dal'Rend's set. After the wipe, they all huddled around me and were barely hurting me for whatever reason. Well, anyways, I lasted about 15 seconds after the raid wiped, still running around luci, and finally died after our mind controlled mage got a crit on me.
On a side note.. the mage got dragged all the way back with Lucifron, then dropped and had the entire room after her. Ahh the comical style of WoW.
It's a scary thing to have Lucifron, the 2 guards, 5 pups, and an angry mage surrounding you.

1) Demonic Rune crit damages you for 1950.
You die.
2/getting killed by a party member who was under control by a Jadefire Trickster.

Ahh yes, falling off Teldrassil onto a branch somewhere in the middle definitely sucks. Personally though, I've never died so much, and so often than in Stonetalon Mountains, specifically The Charred Vale.. I had the opportunity to get a Whirlwind Axe waaaay earlier than I was supposed to, and although that meant I could kick ass, it also meant pulling aggro from impossible distances... goooooood times.. *bleck*

I don't remember the name, but some rare dragon spawned around goldshire while I was questing there as a newb. As it passed through on its way to Stormwind, it hit me and my friend (level 7 at the time) for several thousand damage, killing us instantly. The funny part about this was that just before we were struck, I had cast a shield on my friend, just for fun. When we all died, my initial reaction was that the shield had somehow backfired and exploded.

my worst death was probably one night in Azshara. I was heading to Duke Hydraxis. It was late, I was tired and server was going down in 12 minutes and counting.
So I jumped from the first cliff, I had 70% of my life. I stopped, began to heal myself and said "wtf, I don't have time for that" so I jump on the beach... and I die because I missed somtehing like 100hp... I felt horibly stupid for a loooong time.
Now I always heal myself after a jump ;)

I jumped off teldrassil before, but jumping from tanaris down into ungoro crater was worse ;) Dying with level 10 in Felwood was pretty bad too.

Just the other day, I fell from the Badlands into The Searing Gorge. I'm not sure whether the path I took to get there was even supposed to be accessible, but I was filling out my maps and I had just finished the Badlands so I was trying to get to Searing Gorge as the next spot on my quest. I climbed up mountains at the edge of the Badlands, got to the top and took one step to many. KER-SPLAT! Corpse ran back to my body, rezzed, was immediately beset by Dragonkin, died again, and said "Screw it" and rezzed at the Spirit Healer so I could hearth back to Org and regain my dignity without having to kite my corpse out of the Searing Gorge.

This isn't my death, but it was still hilarious. We're at the final boss in LBRS, it's not going so great and we actually pull the ogre from the other room. I'm not exactly sure what was going on as we weren't really ready when the warrior plowed in. The ensuing chaos killed my squishy mage self pretty quickly. The hilarious death came in the form of the warlock who got kicked by the ogre, flew through the air and died, stuck to the ceiling! I have a picture but no way to post it, sorry.

My worse death... I usually play as a Paladin, so when death does come, its usually after a good long fight. I have to say, right now at the least, my worst death would be just getting chomped on by a Devilsaur in Un'Goro. Didn't even see it coming as I hacked away at one of the oozes.

My Worst Death Ever
By Foleyeva, SP
It was a fine day in Azeroth. Two days before I had finally hit 60. I felt powerful. I thought it was time for me to reach out and melt some faces off of mobs that had given me problems in the past.
It was time for this Shadow Priest to dish out some cold revenge.
I found myself venturing into Duskwood. I was waiting for the town cryer to do his job and let us know an abomination was coming to town. The cry went out and I set off to slay my foe!
Or so the plan went.
I found Stitches doing his wadle down the road towards Darkshire. Dismounting I prepared to slay the ... thing. Mind Blast! Shadow Word: Pain! Mind Flay! Shield! LAG! Ow! Ow! Flay... Lag! Ow! Not good!
Needless to say, my cloth wearing butt was spanked, and spanked hard. As I fell I awaited the long walk to my body. Little did I know how long it shall be.
I appeared in a graveyard. I looked around. Nothing looked as it should. There was no Spirit Healer. There was water. There were ships.
Menethil Harbour?!?! No Spirit Healer?!?! Long walk indeed!!
Yay for server problems!!

A couple levels ago, I was taking the zep to Stranglethorn from UC. We're flying over the middle of the ocean, and I'm talking to someone on AIM. Next thing i know, a rogue is unloading on me. Hoping to survive by hitting the water, i attempt to jump off the zeppelin right as the rogue hits me. I die in mid air, and have no way to recover my corpse floating in the sky.

I had heard about a strip of land off the east coast of Azshara which, when entered, was known as Great Sea UNUSED. As I was on an exploration kick (yay for starting in moonglade and swimming the entire coast of kalimdor between the two points), I got my druid self out there. Of course even with aquatic form I didn't quite make it, overshot the land patch by a good distance, and died. Of course I woke up in Westfall, so talk about one hell of a walk. Thankfully the spirit healer was there :p
