WoW Board Game Review
For any of you out there looking to get your hands on the new World of Warcraft Board Game, a fellow blogger has posted a review of the game over at her site. The game sounds like it may be fairly enjoyable, from the review, but one thing leapt out at me: an $80 price tag? I don't know if this is correct or if these are the prices in some remote corner of Zanzibar, but if that's the case, then I think I'll stick with the video version. It's cheaper, and I don't have to expend the energy to pick up all those dang cards....

$80 is the correct price. I remember seeing it priced that high right before it was released and thought it was insane.

For $80 I get a peice of cardboard, some paper and some plastic figures that i can play with a few select friends?
And for $15 a month I get a fully 3d interactive environment with gameplay that lasts for years on end where millions of people participate.
This feels backwards. It must have something to do with the fact that millons play the real game, but producing this board game for the 25 total people that are going to buy it means production costs are high.

In the UK it cost me £60, roughly $110.

Well, actually the video version is not exactly cheaper, technically... I've been playing since american beta, bought US and EU versions of the game and I don't wanna start adding all the months I payed already.
And yes, sometimes is good to play a game with someone who is actually in front of you. In the flesh. And you only have to pay ONCE for that =D so, I don't think it is that expensive.
(no, I dont work for Blizzard or something like that, I also enjoy board games ^^)

Now, we just need another card type WoW game designed for shorter quicker games. (or at least games around 1-2 hours instead of 6+ hours)
