Mind-Control Griefing: Working as Intended?
I noticed this post on the EU forums regarding massive lost of Cenarion Circle reputation after accidentally attacking a flight master who had been mind controlled by the opposing faction. You know how you right click on a flight master to talk to them and fly somewhere? Well, right clicking will also enable auto-attack on a hostile target. So if the mind control is timed just right, you may not even realize what happened - the flight path window never came up, and you just lost 15000 reputation. (Note: in this case, the initial auto-attack tagged the flightmaster to the player, and opposing faction player killed it - thus the massive reputation loss.)However, GM response simply stated that this was "designed this way" and a CM response states that this is a GM issue. So is it really intentional for other players to be able to cause you to loose huge chunks of reputation like this (it's -15000 for killing a member of faction), through no fault of your own? It seems rather wrong to me, but in the mean-time I'm going to be very careful when flying out of Cenarion Hold...

This is something I think is being changed in following patches with how mind control works. I don't know where I read it but the CMs on the US side of things have stated they don't believe MC is working as the originally intended and is being abused in order to grief other players.

You should not be able to one-shot a flight master so just take your death. It is a pretty dirty thing to do, but I expect no less from the trash that plays the game to grief.

I almost answered the same way (take the death), then I actually READ the article, where it explains the exact sequence of events. Someone else killed the flight master after the guy hit it.

I just had a thought regarding the way GMs are kind of left to make judgements. It tends to be that GMs of any nationality tend to go off and make random choices on their personal views on the events, only to later have those choices vetoed by the developers. (aka MC the UBRS Orce mages for the FR buff) It tends to take some time but I don't think this option will be tolerated if abused often.

I have a bad feeling that a lot of people are going to be doing this now. Making this public, for the lose.
And what's blizz going to do? Nothing until someone does it to one of their friends.
