59,000 More Accounts Closed
In their continued effort to rid Azeroth of hackers and gold farmers, Eyonix announced this evening that 59,000 accounts were closed during the month of June for terms of use violations. Have you seen anyone behaving suspiciously on your server? An account that's being controlled by a bot isn't too difficult to spot if you spend a bit of time paying attention - and Blizzard investigates all reports. So if you suspect such behavior, report it to a GM, and help the community be rid of the annoyance of hackers and bot farmers. Filed under: Cheats, News items, Economy

I saw my first hack the other day. It was on a test realm, some guy was using a speed hack in WSG. Most pathetic thing I've ever seen. I tried to report it, not that I really cared about it on that server, but someone who would do it there might try it on a real server, which would be a problem. Unfortunantly, there doesnt' seem to be an "Obvious Hacks" category in the GM ticket interface.

I find it interesting that you talk about farming and the destructivess it has on the game and suggest that people report farmers to the GM but advertise for their services on your site.

LOL this post is so hilarious that none of you get it. First we have the rich people who have no lives who play this game 24/7. Then we have the ones who work/school in the morning and we have those who work/school at night. Then we have the work/school during the weekends. Now Im not rich. But you tell me how the hell are we supposed to go up ranks and go on raids if 90% arent on in the morning...Everything starts up at around 3pm. I work nights ands it hard and frustrating. Now about farmers who cares if there accounts are closed. I seen farmers that were kicked come back on with new accounts by buying the game all over...Hmmmm the money making scam of blizzard. Bet you didnt know about that. So who cares if 59,000 accounts were closed. They will just buy the game for 37.99 and make blizzard an extra $2,242,000.00. Now whose the farmer?

Let me add this last thing. There is about 6 million subscribers world wide. Times that by the price of the game. Then times the cost of the monthly fee til today. Then times the price of players who bought the game over because there accounts were closed because of farming(which are chinese). Sum that all up. Thats how much Blizzard made. No wonder they advertise farming in their site. For all this we get to play a game that restricts us from doing what we want or need to have.

I agree with B.S. completely. I am so busy with work and school that if I wanna get anywhere in the game, I have to buy gold, and I am not a rich snob. Like I said, I work. Think about it like this. It might take me months to earn 1000 gold. Probably at least 40 hours. In that same 40 hours, I could work and make $350-$400 and spend $97 of that on 1000 gold, then spend 40 hours in the game doing more fun things than grinding. It's a matter of using my time effectively. And I do think it's a just a scam Blizzard wants to use to make more money. If my account gets deleted, I will not by another one. Plus Blizzard says it'll screw up the "economy" and that's B.S. If people didn't sell gold, people will just grind for more gold. Either way, the same amount of gold stays in the economy. Blizzard should stick to improving the game programming. They're NOT economists.
