Burning Crusade Release Date?

While we regularly get tips on the supposed release date of the game - no, we still don't know for certain. Amazon.com says October 15th, Best Buy says November 9th, and EB Games & GameStop both say November 28th. Why the conflicting dates? Well, Blizzard hasn't announced an official date, and it's harder to sell pre-orders without some release date - so all of these retailers are guessing in the dark. However, that doesn't mean one of them couldn't be right - Blizzard has said that they're aiming for a Q4 2006 release, which doesn't rule out much of the ongoing speculation. (Though the date could always slip, you know...)

When has Blizz ever hit a release period they aimed at? Never. I say Burning Crusade comes January at the absolute earliest.

agreed

Any idea if there will be a pre order bonus and what it might be?

There's been a bit of rumor about the possibility of a collector's edition which might have some bonus content, but there's nothing official of yet.

I am pretty certain there was a comment from a Blizz person about E3 time, that they 'hoped to get it out before the end of the year'. I took this to mean next year. What I suspect will happen is it will be avaiable just before Christmas and they will spend the next year fixing bugs and adding content that wasn't quite ready for the initial release.

My guess is next March, with a beta testing period beginning in the November-ish to December-ish time frame.
There is an AWFUL lot of work to be done yet on the expansion, with 20-30 new dungeons to tune, artwork, itemization, flying mounts, talent balances for classes, etc. IF we had a beta-test beginning soon - like real soon, mid-September, then I'd say a holiday season release is POSSIBLE - but still not likely.

Marketing determines most releases and pressures Devs to hurry the hell up usually.
I think marketing is not sure because of several factors.
1. Dev's finishing up the product or as best as they can.
2. Mythics release oF Warhammer
3. Sigils Release of Vanguard
THose are the wildcards in the release date decisions I think.
If you guys n gals recall, WoW released "early". To compete with Everquest 2 launch. It was released incomplete also. Zones busted, quests busted, no such thing as endgame at the time either.
So If they are going to release a not 100% finished prodcut to compete with EQ2 just to make sure they snag up dedicated players before they do.
They just may release sooner than later with Mythic and Sigil on the horrizon also ready to jump into the market.
Those two companies are good. The two games are good. So im sure Blizz wants the impact of there release to be minimal so they can keep the $$$ rolling in.

I say when the warhammer beta test comes out. Man O man cant wait to play it. I am not looking forward to the expansion since the removal of Blood elf warriors. To my knowledge I wont be surprised if you had to wait as long as you had to wait for diablo 2 to come out.LOL. The expansion going to be the downfall of WOW. You'll see. That's when they will come up with Diablo online just watch.

it's funny that people still want to believe the dates might be based on some real information. they have been pushed forward so often that it shows it's just blind guessing.

I love the picture, colour, content, everything.

I'm a fan, I like it colourful and full of romantic content.

Well regardless of the release, my guild hasn't finished all the content that is available now. So in that context whenever the expansion comes out cool.
