Quest Log Jam
20/20. That is what my quest log reads on almost a daily basis. With the introduction of new content every patch I have been forced to face the dilemma of an overflowing quest log. I have quests from months ago that I have been unable to compete. The Last Barov, Araj's Scarab, The Archivist, these have been plaguing my quest to-do list for longer than I can remember. Of course the chances of finding someone to do these quests with are often as good as trying to get into an Alterac Valley group - not bloody likely. I have found since the introduction of casual friendly raid areas like Zul'Gurub and the continuing maturation of the level 60 population not as many people run the old instances like Stratholme and Scholomance. I guess it is partially my own fault, I continuously resist abandoning these quests for the simple reason that I'm too lazy to go find the quest givers again. What quests have been plaguing your WoW daytimer? How do you go about clearing out the quest clutter?

The longests running quests in my book are Breastplate of the Chromatic Flight (1 yr +), the key quest for UBRS (same)and until very recently, the Battle for Darrowshire.
My lowest ranked instance, with 40 days at level 60, is LBRS. I think I've been exactly once.

I'm not yet at 60, so I still have room to grow on the quests. Basically, since I always solo, I just focus on the ones I can solo. If I can't finish a quest, I focus on another until I raise level enough to go back.
I don't like to, but sometimes I'll drop a quest if I'm either +10 levels, or the quest requires me to be 15 higher.

Why have a limit on quests at all? Blizzard really needs to rework the quest log and integrate it with a robust LFG feature -- right now, to me, it's one of the biggest flaws in the game.

I have a lv 52 human warrior, and until last week I had one Ulda quest (the one to kill the last boss for the power source). That haunted me for three weeks. Finally after three wipe outs with random PUG's, a couple of 60's in my guild took pitty on me and helped me finsh it off.
Now I have 4 Mara quests that taunt me to finish them.

I would definately like to push for a LFG for quests. Not just ctrl + clicking them. But actually finding a group doing a quest you're on. I'd take that over pushing up the limit (or removing the limit) anyday!

Battle of Darrowshire has taunted me for months.
Does anyone actually *do* this quest? The loot looks amazing, but maybe thats just because the ring is one of the ultimate items for a Feral Druid Tank.

I did "Battle of Darrowshire" once, on a single character. It is fairly cool, story-wise, but it takes a good bit of time and a group of ten or more players to do it - and it doesn't seem to be easy to find that many for it! (Though I still have it in the quest log of two other characters...)

I'm with you elizabeth, I completed Battle of Darrowshire once as well and it is a really good quest from a story point of view.
I think that is why I never abandon quests, I am always curious about the storylines involved, it is too bad more people don't take the time to appreciate some of the great questlines out there.

This is not meant to be taken ignorantly. But i'm assuming the lot of readers posting comments are not in guilds?
I run up into Naxx currently with my guild. But something we started probably 6 months ago, is just putting aside a night and going around and doing the quests the "plague" the book.
Getting a good guild run togather enables people to pretty much punch out *all* available quests contained within an instance. Not to mention Battle Of Darrowshire, A'raj, any of the encounters outside such as The Blight caller. Plus it's just a fun way to mix things up.

Prior to lvl 60, I would work my way up to the 20 quest limit and then make decisions about what to drop when I found one I really wanted. Gray quests were the first to go. An occasionally, running an instance would result in completeing a few at once.
At lvl 60, Quests tend to stay on my list a lot longer as none turn gray and I don't accept new ones as I expect to return to all the areas again and find them again. A higher active quest limit would be nice. Twenty is a bit low. I think 100, for example, would be way to high without a way to find them, other than scrolling thru the list. Most of us would probably fill our quest log, what ever the limit.
I could vote for LFG Instance and LFG Quest channels. Sounds like a real good idea.

battle of darrowshire has some fairly good rewards if done in a relatively timely fashion (i.e. when blue gear is still king.) it might seem a bit less useful once you go down the path of twinking alts along.
that said, being in a good guild and simply putting up a note on a guild message board saying 'i got quest x -- anyone else got that and maybe want to get it done?' usually can go a long way to help things along. some places (BRD, f.e.) can be a bit tedious to do over again, others can be quite lucrative (i made an absolute mint in stratholme.)

The ones that always stick longest in my quest log are those that require me to travel to the other end of Azeroth just to speak to someone or hand them over "supplies" for a measly 1000 xp.....oh, that and "Fire Hardened Mail" which as well as requiring 50(!!) Scorched fangs to be collected in the Wetlands, then requires me to travel to deepest darkest Kalimdor :/
