Additional Honor System Modifications Coming

We already know that the honor system's curve is getting adjusted in patch 1.12, but apparently that's not the only change planned. On Friday, CM Nethaera let us know that there will also be some reduction in honor decay. The exact patch note reads: Honorable Kills now diminish at a rate 10% per kill rather than 25% per kill. The phrasing of the post lead to some confusion, so she later clarified - in patch 1.12 you're going to be able to kill the same player more before you stop receiving honor. If it seems like a minor tweak, well, Nethaera admits that it's only a temporary measure, and that there are bigger changes coming.

I don't see how a fix that pretty much just increases the amount of honor everyone gets will do much. If you just give everyone extra honor, the standings don't change since it's factored relatively.

If you ask me it does help alleviate secondary problems with the current honor system, while possibly making another problem worse.
As you know, the first time you score an HK on an opponent you receive 100% honor (based on your contribution to the kill. Let's say that's 200. If you kill the same opponent again, you will only receive 75% (150), then 50%, then 25%, and then 0%. Thus, after killing a player 4 times within a certain period of time, you cease to gain any honor from them.
Under this revision, the honor decay might be reduced to 10%, meaning each player killed can yield a higher maximum honor. The good thing about this is that it may encourage people who usually leave raids in order to gain honor to stay in the raid because they now will be able to kill a player 10 times before receiving no honor. The bad thing about this is that some of the same max-min style players will stay out of the raid because they know that they can continue to earn high honor on a kill for several kills. This may also cause players on PVP servers to camp other players longer because they'll be yielding honor for up to 10 kills (*shudder*).
So it's a mixed bag. I'd prefer an honor cap or some other solution to making battlegrounds and pvp more fun and less farm.

I don't know if you are on a PVP server or not Mr. Tibbs, but usually if people are camping a corpse they do it past the point of gaining honor anyways. Also, I believe they are instituting a autoraid type thing when entering a battleground. Making it so no one is outside the party/raid.
I see this change as a good thing. When doing BGs you usually see the same people over and over again, specially in the smaller ones. So it makes it a little more rewarding.
