Breakfast Topic: Days Played
During a raid last night, a guy in my guild revealed that he has 170 days played on his main. That blew me away, as I have about 90 on my old Priest, and about 30 on my new Warlock. Then a few others in my guild made my jaw drop with over 200 days played. It was at that point that I realized that no matter how hardcore my wife believes me to be, there are people out there that make me look like a small time chump in terms of time spent in WoW.How do you get 200 days played? You would have needed to play an average of a little over 7.5 hours every single day since release in November 2004. And if you happened to get the game 3 months after release and you have 200 days played? Well...you can do the math. Even if I had no job, no wife and no other outside activity, I am not sure I could log that many hours. It's not like I am above it or too good, I just lose concentration after a bit and need to veg out on my 360 or watch TV. How many days played do you have? Are you the slightest bit ashamed of your tally?

Some of it might be going afk. I havn't been playing too long but my friends have. Whenever I check my friends list I see them afk. afk in town. afk in an instance, afk in a raid. Eventually they get kicked off and they come back on and go afk again.

Power leveling also results in AFK everywhere, and you can imagine that PLVLing from 40 - 60 would certainly rack up the time. I have logged in at odd hours and seen abvious bots at work, and people farming mobs with afk or DND over their head. You can bet they were being PLed for cash.

Heh. thats a lot. I have a level 52 Alliance Mage on Draenor. He is my only real character and I have only 13 days logged with him. I thought that was too much time. But I'm 19 with a full time job and a one year old trying to make ends meet. I don't have that much time to play. I might get 3-4 hours a week.

i have 220 days played on my main (a paladin) alone. i got 3 more levle 60 toons and 3 more in the 27-35 range. i dunno offhand what the time played on my alts are but i'm guessing it's a total of 250 or so days played.
two people in my guild have more time played on their mains, but that can be boiled down to pvp'ing for rank 14 (something i never did -- got to 11 and called it good.)

I quit the game a while ago (December of 2005)
I had 170 days played on my Warlock when I quit.
If you averaged and distributed the hours played over the approximate year that I played, I averaged 10.8 hours a day, every day, without fail. However, there were days (even up to weeks) that I did not play, so my average per day would be something close to 12+ hours a day on the days that I played.
