Breakfast Topic: Favorite New Mount?

The title says it all. We now know what the new mounts are for the Draenei and Blood Elves, so what's your favorite? While we don't have screenshots of either yet, we know that the Draenei will be riding the elephant-like elekk, and the Blood Elves will be riding on cockatrices. While a number of posters seem to think that a cockatrice is some sort of chicken (I've also seen comparisons to Final Fantasy's Chocobo), but the half-bird, half-lizard has the chance to look awfully interesting. Of course, there could be a lot of differences between our perception of these creatures and Blizzard's perception of these creatures. I think an elephant will be fun, but nothing can even hope to touch the coolness of anything that flies.
What I am not looking forward to is the great increase in Cock Rider jokes.

ooh i was not aware of these announced mounts until i read this post, very exciting. i'll be rollin bloodelf because i've always likedthe horde starting area more but then again i'll try to get to 40 on each of the new races, my tauren's almost exalted w/ org so i'll be riding a wolfie in no time =)

As a tauren who loves my Great White Kodo, I'm naturally drawn to the Draenei mount.
Those choices of mount make sense from an technical point of view. Blizzard isn't really changing anything dramatically by going with a reskinned kodo which now looks like an elephant, and for the Blood Elves' cockatrice, a bigger, reskinned gnome mechanostrider. That has a chance to look really cool or really silly.

I play a Gnome/Mage who took several months to earn the needed reputation to ride a Horse. Now at level 60 as much as I would like to see him on Elekk, I cannot concieve of spending months grinding XP with the Draenei when my peers will be questing and raiding from level 60 to 70 and working on thier flying mounts.
I seriously doubt at any but a mere handful will ever attempt to get a cross-class mount before they go after their Flying Mount.

Maybe us poor tauren can finally get a different mount... A elephant should be able to carry the bulk better then a kodo. And then people can yell at the elephant rider for taking up half the screen...

Nothing in the game looks as silly as a Tauren on a Kodo. The movement is all wrong. I hope they do a better job with the Elekk.

You you kidding me? Taurens look completely badass on a kodo. Speaking as a tiny little gnome mage, I find them quite terrifying. I'm looking forward to having some huge draneieieiaia on my side.

If you go to Bliz's site & download WOWEx_Blizcon.avi, there's an illustration of what appears to be an Elekk at 1:10. Ya know...if you're curious about that type of thing...

Holy crap. I just noticed at 1:07 on the same file there's a rendering of what has to be a cockatrice. Looks like it's just going to flap around close to the ground. Probably a re-skinned bat or something. Check it out, peoples! Sorry I can't send the link-I'm locked out of the Blizz site at work.
