Zul'jin Server Protest
.jpg)
I have to admit, while not the most stirring display of protest I have ever seen, this is rather amusing. Some folks from the Zul'jin server, who are fed up with lag and crashes, took their complaints directly to Blizzard. They didn't march on Blizzard headquarters, but they did make their voices heard by picketing the World of Warcraft booth at Gencon 2006.
While some might argue the merit of spending your time at Gencon holding up signs and making what looks like a (very polite) ruckus, I award them points for creativity. It sure beats starting yet another "fix the server already" petition on the forums.

It's stupid action. Better they would move their characters to other servers

Yeah, because an entire guild giving $25 per member to get off a laggy server is definitely the right idea to getting them to fix it. Show them who's the boss by giving them cash! Yeah!
If Blizzard won't do something by themselves, it's the players' responsibilities to do something to make them. Unfortunately, paid transfers probably are not going to do it.

I have to agree that the long delays in upgrading older servers shows that it wasn't on the top of Blizzard's to do list. The protest is a creative way to draw some public attention to the problem even if it seems a bit trite.

It's great. We've been having lots of lag fun on Bleeding Hollow (one of the original release servers).
A month ago on Ragnaros we had him at 20% when Sons emerged. We lagged for 45 seconds when the sons emerged. After we bounced back, half the party was dead, but we got the sons down. All the tanks were down and the only ones alive were a couple mages. We went back in to try again, but this time, after we killed the sons, Ragnaros didn't reemerge. We sat there for 10 minutes and then just gave up for that week of MC.
That same we, we got about 30 seconds of lag fighting Hakkar, we wiped.
Then, it was our first week going back into BWL after a break of about two months from there (we previously had it on farm status). We get to Nef, had a flawless first phase and when we had him down to 40%, it lagged for 30 seconds. Everyone died. Killed that SOB next attempt though.
Bliz just seems so negligent on updating this software but not only that, they have multiple times showed bad coding practices (item buffs moved with zoning, anyone?). It is really starting to wear on me.

Posted almost a full 2 weeks before this "Protest" to bring attention to the problem.
