Breakfast Topic: What Are You Looking Forward to in Patch 1.12?
With patch 1.12 presumably rolling out today, I've just got to ask - what are you most eager to see coming with the patch? Cross-realm battlegrounds? The changes to the honor system? The new outdoor PvP objectives? The new interface improvements? The many rogue class changes? Or perhaps something else I've neglected to mention? I honestly think my personal favorite is a minor UI change - the ability to have nameplates appear over friendly players as well as hostiles and NPCs. As a healer, I think this will give me a better idea of the health of those around me in a chaotic situation where I may not be near my group (Alterac Valley anyone?). However, the changes to the honor system have also piqued my interest, and I know I'll have to give the world PvP objectives an attempt or two. But what are you looking forward to the most?Filed under: Patches, Breakfast Topics

I'm looking forward to the honor and pvp changes as a pvper. Granted, the good changes won't be until Burning Crusade, but every little bit helps.
Oh, and I'm looking forward to some of the lock changes.

ROGUE PATCH!
Sorry, but as a longtime rogue, I see the changes to the tree as nothing short of spectacular.

As long-time rogue, this "rogue" patch leaves me cold and yawning; why did they bother throwing a talent review again?

Rogue changes look wicked pimp. I'm still leveling two different rogues and I know that some have expressed dissatisfaction with changes on the Blizzard forums. But the changes overall look like a positive direction - reduction of certain talents allowing the points to be spread into some new abilities that weren't available before. The core point distribution didn't change radically (still need X points in such-and-such tree), but I still enjoy what Blizz has done.
I'm basically getting maxed talents for 2 or 3 points that cost 5 yesterday. As I'm not planning on raiding with either rogue, the changes are a welcome addition for my toons. :)
The world PvP changes seem kind of "meh" to me considering we're really getting PvE buffs for PvP play, but whatever. At least they acknowledge that there is a strong desire for world PvP gameplay.

I have a 60 Rogue and a 60 Warlock.
Rogues got buffed big time.
The warlock's Life Tap now scales with +damage gear, making it much easier to manage health/mana.
I win.

I'm looking forward to my level 45 character being repeatedly ganked by level 60 rogues trying out their new spec. Oh wait... that already happens :(
PvP Patch Aug 22nd 2006 12:39PM
I'm looking forward to a softened PvP rank curve and auto raids in the battlegrounds. Oh and most importantly, I'm hoping that the cross realm battlegrounds helps keep AV/AB running late into the night.
Anyone check out the new world pvp zones on the PTR?

The Rogue patch didn't do anything for me, spec stays the same. Time to farm UBRS for the new Eviscerate book :(

It looks like I'm the only one dissatisfied with the new Rogue talent tree. As it is right now, I'm forced to remove 5 points from the Combat tree and put them into Subtlety just so I can get Camouflage, which used to be on the first level (I'm stealthed so often that I really want to move as fast as possible). Bye bye to improved Sprint and Blade Flurry :-(

I can tell you that I'm *not* looking forward to downloading the latest versions of my addons, with the inevitable pain of losing a few for a few weeks while the devs get them up to speed. Which might I lose? SheepWatch? Movable Bags? ....sigh.

Fixing the Druid Furor talent bug which was included in the last "patch". How a software company could release a patch when they knew beforehand that their coding changes were bugged is still beyond my comprehension. Blizzard management needs to review their Quality Assurance program.

Personally, I'm very much looking forward to the nerf to Thunderclap for the warriors. Did you see the patch notes? Thunderclap has been left at 10% reduction even with the haste changes reducing its effectiveness somewhat.
I have a few things to say about this.
1. I don't care at all about the actual reduction in potency. It will not affect me or any other warriors anywhere at any time.
2. Blizzard had to throw in a nerf for warriors. They have to keep the streak going. Even when they change the game mechanics for all the other classes, they still find a way to make it damaging (in their minds) to warriors.
3. Why they would chose to change a talent that no one uses I have no idea. Thunderclap does not scale, it does next to no damage. The debuff it gives is lame. The only thing...the ONLY thing I've found it useful for is stopping people from capping a flag in AB and AV...but now with the new world PVP coming...why would you even need that?
Oh Blizzard, you never cease to amaze me. Why don't you spend your time figuring out why charge hasn't worked right in years...
Nerfing Thunderclap is akin to the change they spent so much time on to prevent warriors from changing stances while dead. GOD FORBID WE BE ABLE TO CHANGE STANCES WHEN DEAD.
Long live blizzard.

I'm can't wait for the iTunes hot keys. No more getting WTFPWNT while I Command+M out to change some crap song. ;)
