Patch Day Excitement
To the surprise of absolutely no one, the patch applied earlier today has caused massive problems on many servers throughout WoW. Blizzard is aware of the issues, and is working to fix them. The problems are so widespread that Tseric mentioned in his statement that it would be pointless to list the affected realms. Ouch.
This is pretty typical on patch day, and I can only imagine the cross-realm battlegrounds make things all the more complex. My guild canceled raids for this evening, as is our custom on patch days, and I would think other guilds did as well. While I am sure Blizzard will get this figured out as quickly as they can, I am not holding my breath that all will be stable anytime soon. Sounds like a Blockbuster night at the Nelson palace. Any suggestions?

i'll tell you the biggest patch day problem, the name "mushi" is no longer allowed. it has been filtered by the games text filter since day one, but now it is not allowed entirely. what will my level 60 do?

Here's a question. Why aren't players compensated with an extra day when a patch goes horribly wrong like this? I think it should be automatic that Blizzard would compensate for this. Why should players have to pay for their problems? I understand that WoW is incredibly complex and is perhaps the most involved game ever created, but when their software doesn't work, we shouldn't have to pay for the mistakes.

Patch Days have become so notoriously unreliable that my guild stopped scheduling raids on Tuesdays long ago.
It sucks that we can't enjoy new patches on the day of release, but everyone should know by now that a patch day is pretty much a lost day.
Now, together with me... on the count of three... EVERYONE ACT SURPRISED!!

I have a theory, I could be totaly off, but the servers that had a lot of problems this weekend all seemed to be in Battlegroup 5.
Yesterday, Anetheron(the sever with my main) was fine. A little laggy, but no major problems. Did SM Arm/Lib and got 2 WSG games, and 1 AB game in, my first ever time in Arathi Basin.
There could be a connection. Dont know.

well ive been playin 1.12 for few hours now, and part from the now rolling restarts, there isnt a single aspect of the the Blizzard's new UI that doesnt in some way clash with 3rd party ones.
essentially, you have to turn off manually all of blizzards "fancy new autocasting" features in order to cast any friendly spells (heal, buff, etc on party or non-party friendly)
i could try and list all the glitches ive discovered with 1.12 and cosmos, but id be here all day......
the BG's are good tho, i counted 16 simultanous BG's running :)

I was on last evening long enough for two games of WSG. The reduced queues seemed great... Then my second game was against a premade (9 alliance from the same server and obviously moving, attacking, healing as a group) with a field marshal in it. Horde had no one above rank 9.
Until/unless they get the battlegrounds matching system working, shorter waits are pointless. Now I can get zero HKs and 15 deaths after just five seconds in line! Yay epic'd out premades!

My guild still attempted to do MC last night...we downned Garr but all dc'd before we could loot. :(
Ah well, at least we were able to make it that far before we had any problems.

On my server, all instances were down. The LFG channel was full of people stuck in the Deadmines begging for a summon out of there. When I personally tried to go into MC for our nightly raid I got a message "Transfer aborted: Instance not found."
But I was the lucky one. Two people from my guild got their characters stuck in MC and couldn't log out for the duration of the night.
Rhonien, 60 Warlock Shadow Moon.

Yeah, had some wicked lag in IF last night. Ever seen the griffins just sitting there flapping their wings? Wierd.
But everything was fine once I was out of IF. Did a quick Strat run, no problem.
As an added plus, all of my critical addons seemed to work fine. I do need to update CTRaid though.
