Re daggers as tanking weapons: I've heard many wars say The Lobotomizer is one of the best pre-raid tanking weapons you can get. Compare it to Thunderfury, arguably the best eva: only .1 faster speed, 8 dps less, and similar style procs. Obviously not as good, but not so terribly different as types of weapons go.

Calling it a sword or a dagger is just semantics to a prot war who will have 1-hand specialization, not sword specialization. The stats are all that matter.

Now if your war had a crappy dagger, that's the problem. And you're looking at the wrong damage meter stat to judge your war: it's not damage done, but damage taken that shows you how good he is.
