Free Respec for Everyone On Expansion Release
We actually had this confirmed the other day, but I didn't put it up because I thought it was already obvious. Because people are still asking on the forums, yes: everyone (all classes) will be getting a free respec when the expansion releases, whether you choose to purchase the expansion or not.Which is probably good news if you're planning to respec near the end of this year, and didn't want to spend the 5g. But as I said, with all the new talents coming out, rumored or otherwise, how could you not respec? It is pretty momentous that they're handing them out across the board-- I don't recall Blizzard ever having done that before. But considering how much they're changing everything, it's only the right thing to do.
A better question might be this: What will the world of Azeroth be like for the week after the expansion, when everyone comes back to find new and varied talents, and almost everyone has to L2P again? Will free respecs make us all noobs again, or will players be more than ready to jump in and use what they've been given like pros?

I don't think it would be wise to respec right off the bat. I mean the existing builds are good and have a purpose. My warrior is a Mortal Strike build and if it was good to level him up to 60 it will be good to go for a couple levels Im sure. The respec will probably come much later. So to me the question is : is this a free respec that you can bank and keep for later or will you just find your talents have been reimbursed and you must allocate them anew ?

Well, most of the expansion preview talents we've seen have included changes to pre-60 talent arrangements, which would certainly force the need for a respec on many players.

yeah i certainly would wait with spending 5g because in a couple on months (how many really?) i can do it for free.

If Blizzard does it like they have with major class overhauls, you will log in the day the expansion is released and have 51 talent points available to spend. You will have no talent points at all in anything at that point. I would bet that is exxactly how it will be done.
Realistically, I bet most of us are going to end up spending extra gold on respecs as we try out the new talents. Also, I am thinking since this is going to happen at the same time the level cap is raised to 70, that most poeple will go for max damage specs instead of raid specs, to level faster. I know for my Druid, I have been collecting +spell damage gear and will go Noobkin for the grind to 70.
