How do we level? Part II
Jennie got to post about how she levels, so I shall now share with you the wisdom of my super-leveling system:I get all the bots I can load onto my machine and bot it all the way to 60.
I kid, I kid.
What I really do, and this method works, although it is not the fastest, is I just hit instances again and again. I run them until the experience stops being worth it, then I move on to...you guessed it...the next level-appropriate instance. There are a lot of advantages to this leveling style:
1. You learn to function in a team. I really like the team aspect of WoW. Soloing just doesn't give me the same fun factor as playing with other people. Additionally, the instance method of leveling shows you how your class functions in a group. If you never plan on serious play at 60 this would be less important, but as I enjoy the raiding aspect of WoW, I find that what I learn about my class in the instances is invaluable.
2. The money is pretty good. If you solo, you might end up having to spend money on gear. If you spend the majority of time running instances, you will get all the equipment you need. In fact, it is usually much better stuff than you can find at the auction house. With all that savings from not having to buy gear, combined with selling the random greens you win during instance runs, the 100 gold you need for your first mount doesn't seem so daunting.
3. You meet a lot of people. Yes, you will meet some idiots. However, you will also meet some good people who you can group and level with all the way to 60.
Obviously you will need to do some questing here and there and grind a little bit when a group isn't available, but try to spend as much time in instances as possible. You won't level at amazing speeds, but you will meet new people and learn your class in and out, which will make life at 60 that much easier.

This approach works on newer servers.. but what about when you start leveling an alt on a well developed server. I know i just recently started lvling an alt.. and i have the barrens practically to my self. Once you get into the 50+ instances it will most likely work.. but pre BRD.. gl =(

100% True. :) I leveled up at launch on a new server, started again on a new server about 9 months ago, and recently started on a new server again a couple weeks ago. So this works in that respect. If you are leveling an alt, well...then it is grinding and questing for you!

Hahaha.. ya thats how i was.. but when the new cross realm battlegrounds started.. i decided its time to settle down. One thing is for sure tho.. You find alot of rare spawns you never new existed!

Wow, another pointless post.
Just get out there, do the quests and kill the mobs. Instance leveling is slow as crap, you have to deal with idiots and although you may lick your chops over the items that drop, you'll be vendoring them in no time! Why even do this to yourself?

Im sure its not just me that thinks Felnor is a coplete and total dick...
I found instance leveling to be very usefull, even though my server is well established. It was fun, the number of times i ran into idots can be counted on my left hand, and it was probably the best thing to help me learn how to play my class.

I'd say this approach is actually more class related. On my hunter (for example) it'd be fine, but my priest SM was the only good instance. I loathed all others because nobody I would group with could play their class properly (if at all).
For example, I'd almost always be left tanking a mob myself after the very first heal until the end of the fight. My deaths compared to companions deaths was always 2:1 or greater. There was only ever ONE group in ZF I was happy with (out of about 10 runs), and gave up on Uldaman after 3 rediculously pathetic attempts.
ST was ok but hard to find groups for (until I was too high to get any decent loot from there, then all I saw was ST groups). BRD onwards was pretty much all instances but it seemed significantly slower.
I was rather fortunate at the lower levels. Bored lvl 60 guildies ran my alt and a few others through gnomeran and VC a few times for gear.

idiots are all over. more so on alliance. because little kids and new people are like "alliance is so pretty" but even still. priests can grind wonderfully in an instance because you can be the minimum lvl range an instance looks for and be fine. say SM you can do the whole thing at lvl 34 np. thats from beginning to end if you have a group of 37-40's they will keep the first couple mobs you aggro in any of the instance and then youll be fine after that.
also have disenchanting and sell the blue disenchants for BANK. when i start a new server though i usually have 3-6 friends with me and we run instances together. this makes for lack of idiots.
but on an old server, lvling an alt is super easy. if you have some 60's do quests that are red to you. you wont get much xp for mob kills but you get INSANE xp for quest turn ins. some quests such as Kill Lord Fangore or any other Wanted SIGNS quests, can sometimes be grabbed 10+ lvls below there required lvl and you can get a 60 to down them np and you get like 4000xp for quest turn in.
plus you never have to worry about being ganked with 2 60's epic'd out on your side :)

I enjoy playing with RL friends the best, Aside from our 60's we started new guys on a completely different server all as gnomes and playing a fair amount of time, We're not powerlevelers but we love our instances, and we function as clockwork because we all know each other.
