WoW TCG Preview: Smite
As far as priest abilities go, smite used to be a joke -- and the punchline was usually "lol." However, since the priest changes came through a few patches back, smite has become a decent way of dishing out holy damage on your unsuspecting foes (who probably mistakenly think that a holy priest is nothing but sweetness and light!). The trading card version of Smite dishes out 4 damage to your target at the cost of 5 resources -- and while this may seem like a high price to pay, be aware that the damage caused by smite cannot be avoided or negated. Now that's not a bad deal.Filed under: Odds and ends, Blizzard

And I remember times when priest was almost nothing. No, he was good resurrector, healear, but alone he he was nothing. Good to hear, that Blizzard is patching balance in right way

Holy/disc priest would like to clarify some things: alone, we are still largely nothing. Smite does require a bit longer cast, and even for higher level players, the crits are relatively low. It's not my first choice pvp spell by any stretch of the imagination. Also, I don't particularly care about the card game, but that's just me. Please clarify that--as folks seem to think you are talking about WoW online. It is true that without a potion, there are not many things that resist holy damage--but even talent spec'd for it, the cast times are long.
