WoW TCG preview: Starfire
I admit -- I had to log on to my druid to remind myself what Starfire was in the online game. Moonfire, sure, everyone knows about that, but Starfire? It's an arcane damage spell with a long cast time and high damage -- but the lengthy cast time tends to mean that I tend to use Wrath (a shorter cast time, but lower damage) whenever I'm in caster form. However, the version of Starfire that finds itself in the TCG is a bit more interesting. Mimicking the in-game ability, it costs a lot of resources (6 resources probably compares equitably to the 3.5 second cast time the spell has online) and does a good amount of damage (5). But there's an added bonus -- after casting Starfire you get a chance to draw a card. And when cards represent all the damage you can do, the resources you can draw upon, and the quests you can complete, this is nothing but a good thing.Filed under: Odds and ends, Blizzard

I hate to be a fuddy duddy, but I might have to unlink this RSS. I don't care about the card game--at all. And I'm rather tired of reading anything about it. Can you post it to an alternate site?

happygardeningmama. Your not alone, I feel the same way.

I'll flame then.
The card game looks stupid and i hate the very idea of it.

I feel the same and I have been holding back to tell about it. I love this blog but covering whatever is on the cards of the card game is a big turn off. To me, the card game is something else and I dont like to see it covered here.

Oh gosh...you poor folks, imagine having to "ignore" certain RSS articles. And it's so difficult to do when they're all prefaced with "WoW TCG preview:". This board is for WoW, not just WoW on the PC, or just WoW on the Mac, or just WoW in TCG, or just WoW out there in the real world...it's about WoW, and it just so happens the TCG falls under that category.
I follow plenty of RSS feeds, and there isn't a single one that has articles I want to read every single posting. Try picking up your local newspaper - I bet you'll skip half the articles in it...what's wrong with doing that here?
To WoW Insider - I think it's about time the TCG got its own category...odds and ends it isn't anymore.

Sylythn (#6),
We can voice our concerns with our local newspaper too. Same here. There's no need to be disrespectul and lecture us like school children.

Yeah, I feel the same way about the card game. I come here to read about the video game, not a card game based on the same universe.
I would like the focus of this particular site to remain on topics related to the PC version of the game.

Hey guys, just want to let you know that your objections (and flames) are being heard. That said, afaik we're not going to stop the TCG coverage. :) I've said before that I'm not really interested in the TCG (and I'm not), but it's not like we're trading off other coverage just to give you these previews. This is extra, added service for you.
Plus, even though I don't plan to buy any cards (except the ones that come with the expansion collectors edition), this card's strategy seems pretty neat. You never know, maybe one of these previews will catch your eye and you'll thank us for getting you involved in your first CCG.

I don't care if you post about the TCG, but that's the thing... who cares? I mean seriously, if you could choose between WoW and a card game about WoW, why would you choose the card game?
I'm asking honestly too, hopefully this doesn't sound sarcastic.
