Breakfast Topic: Starting Over With Burning Crusade
I have seen some posts in the guild recruitment forum on the official site (that is, when the forums are actually working) of guilds starting fresh and re-rolling new characters upon the release of the Burning Crusade expansion. I guess I could see this being interesting at the beginning, provided you are in the new starting areas, experiencing all the new goodies there and such. However, I get the impression that the grind to 60 will be the same with the exception of those new starting areas. Starting over again, and waiting to hit the new Outland content? I don't know about that. On the other hand, I will admit that starting fresh with new characters and working your way to the new 60-70 content has some appeal. The "starter" Outland zones will be positively slammed for the first couple of weeks after release, so by the time you hit 60 the population will have spread out a bit around the new continent.
Are any of you guys thinking of starting over with the BC? Are any of you currently in guilds that are planning to do this? Or do you think the re-rollers are insane? I might be interested in doing it myself if the mood happens to strike me come expansion time, so maybe we could be future guildies! How exciting would that be?*
*If you answered "Not very exciting at all. I don't want this noob in my guild!", then you answered wisely.

while i am not leaving my other chars, i am making a new char with bc which i plan on kinda sticking to, a blood elf warlock. at least one of my guild mates plan on doing the same. while it is true that the early outland areas will be flooded at the start, i would be willing to bet that the new starting areas will be just about as crowded. anyway, if you do roll a new toon, you are welcome to join my guild, sapientia on kirin tor.

I've always wanted to roll a Horde character (never tried one out), but rather than start now I decided to just wait until the expansion comes out. Yes, everyone's gonna play a Blood Elf... hey, so be it.

Well, no one's getting them when they're noobs, anyway... I think some new guilds for these noobs will be established by the first "noobs" when they'll go to 60... But that'll take some time.

We're a raiding guild, currently in Naxx, and we realize there will be a need for Draenei shaman in the expansion. A few people are going to race up to 70 with their Shaman, while the rest of the guild works on getting to 70.
The first 25 people (with 3 shammy spots reserved) to 70 will get to be in the new core raiding group. Dedication to the cause and all that.
Personally, I haven't decided if I'm going to push to 70 with my current main (Paladin), switch to my alt (Priest), or start from scratch on a Draenei mage.

Soon to come! 90% od Draeni imediately after expansion will be shamans, and 90% of Blood elves will be Paladins! Look forword to never being able to find a group if your a D. shammy!

As was stated in the post above. I would say the biggest reason to reroll a new sham/pally is the guaranteed raid spot. I cant imagine how in demand will those first 70's be.

I'm on Kirin Tor and I'd planned a BE Warlock. What are the the odds there'll be a 3rd? :)

I'll be number 3. Blood Elf Warlock.
Thinking about a Draenai hunter as well... so many new pets.

Draenei warrior all the way. :D

We're going to try something we've wanted to do for a while, and roll up a group of 5 Blood Elf paladins, to do 5-man content from level 1 to 70 (just to see how strong a group of 5 paladins would be)... while keeping our 60s and raiding them up to 70.

Can't decide on being a Blood Elf Warlock or joining the darkside and giving the BE Paladin a go...oooh the scathing stares...

The new races start areas will be as much flooded as the new 60+ zones will be with wanna-become-70-asap's. So it really make no difference on the first day (if you are lucky and can log on to your server that is).
I always wanted to see the horde side of WoW too and so I will make a bloodelf twink myself too, though only to bypass waiting time for raids. Main goal is getting my little Druid to 70 while visiting the new instances :)

Definately not re-rolling, the new races add nothing to the game apart from a different skin to existing content.
I'll be heading to Outland, that's where the real new content will be at.

Doing a bit of both. Getting my Warlock on the way to 70 and rolling a BE (something) for the downtime.

Ya'll are crazy. No Blood Elf ROGUES? With that silence racial they have, combined with rogue stealth — makes a Belf Rogue my character of choice.
And since I've got every OTHER calss and race covered, I'm stuck with super-redundant Draenei Pally. Hammer-throwing Healbot here I come. Still, looking forward to it.

2 words, UNDEAD MAGE!
im stickin to the roots.
i was former alliance and i dont really see pallis as all that. but dont get me wrong i havent been end game. so with that spoken i think alliance is getting the better of the 2 races. but with the pali buffs, and the shammy totems, lvl 60 dungeons will drop like flies.
