Official BC Druid talents announced!
Been waiting? Wait no longer -- the druid's talent preview is up and running on the European website! See new skills here and talent trees here. Interesting highlights include a flight form for flying transport around the Outlands, a new CC spell called Cyclone that has no limitations on enemy type or an indoor/outdoor restriction (but does require level 70), the ubiquitous pet-summon at 41-points balance, and increased HoT spell domination with new healing spell Lifebloom and the 41-point restoration ability Tree of Restoration -- which only allows a druid to cast HoTs.Filed under: Druid, News items, Expansions

Oh, yeah. It's a good time to be a druid.

Who needs a drake? Not druids!

So Hunters are the last ones to have their talents revealed. Figures.
Well, yay for Druids. Flight form looks good, don't know much else about the Druid class to comment on the other stuff.

Those are mighty nice. I particularly like the Feral stuff. The flight form is okay, but is tempered by it's limited use and it's 60% speed increase. For a level 70 spell it should have been 100%.

HAHAHA
did anyone else see tree of life form?
wasn't tree form in some joke patch notes a while ago?

As if druid were hard enough to keep from running away, now they can turn into a bird and fly away. =)

These changes look pretty good.
Not really sure if it's worth going all the way to the top tier talent for balance and resto though. If you thought being a resto druid gimped you in PvP wait until you get to move twice as slow as everybody else.
The travel form can't be 100% because it can't compete directly with having a mount. Just like now where the cheetah form is only 40% vs the full 60% for the non-epic mount. You can't let druids just get a free mount in Outland.
I love the lifebloom skill - I wonder if the instant heal still triggers if a player right clicks to remove the buff. That would be a nice feature.

I have mixed feelings about these changes.
At first glance I was disappointed in the changes made at the end of the restoration tree. It will depend on what spells are considered HoTs and what aren't (Regrowth, anyone? ).
At a second glance, I saw the big buff the first tiers of this tree got (a dispell resist for example). It seems that Blizzard is trying to push the end game raider players into getting say 21+ points in Resto and try the others tree. But when you look at the 2 other trees, there are some strange changes, like the chance on hit to regain mana in moonkin?!? A caster going melee? I don't see the use, really. And the feral form sreally, really lack a good +crit talent. I don't see how they can compete without...
So, I'm puzzled by these new talents, but eager to see what will happen with them (hopefully more OOMkins et LolAtCats :)

The issue here is that Blizzard did not face the real problem druids faced.
Itemization.
If we could get items to help us in our roles we would be able to do well.
Druids speced for tanking should be able to tank as well as a Prot Warrior. (Both are spec'ed for tanking right?)
Druids speced for DPS etc.
Most of the problems now are due to issues with itemization. All of Tier 1 - Tier 3 are made for 1 reason. Healbots.

With all these classes getting pets, I sure hope they are working on something really cool for Hunters.

@Unkle: yeah, a NERF!

well if u mix and match the T1 and T2 (5 T1 3 T2) u can get some bonuses for balence druids. Also with the new +spell dmg for balence druids i wonder how high some druids will crit for with star fire.
1 more thing...
I wonder if u can go into flight form and if a horde is on his/her flying mount can u get outa form and moonfire that person then go back to flight form *ponders the posibilities for world pvp druids!*
Now that would kick A*s

I disagree with truth in regard to feral bear tanks being as good as prot specced warriors. The idea of hybrid characters isn't to surpass the primary role characters, and what you ask would do exactly that. Your logic would mean a Druid would be a better healer than a Priest, and a better DPS'er than a Rogue. It would be unbalancing to have a character that could do so much in the game.
Feral tanks are pretty good now. Perhaps a bit more could be done with them, but I think most are happy with what they see.
As to the itemization. Yes it has been an issue, but those problems should become less with the expansion (jewelcrafting/socketed items). You will be able to make your own items suited to whatever use you need the items for. While that might not fix all the itemization issues it will in fact go a good way toward the goal.
I'm excited by what I see (talents/spells) and look forward to playing my Druid (along with my warrior) into the expansion.
