Breakfast Topic: Most Whiny Class
The hunters seem very angry. Their new Burning Crusade talents and spells have not been revealed and they feel a little slighted. Does this make them the most whiny class? Well...no. Up until this point I have felt that hunters were one of the more easy going classes in the game. Or maybe I am just meeting some really mellow hunters. In my personal experience, the class that makes the most noise is druids. Granted, they have valid reasons to be annoyed. They are victim of some pretty bad itemization for their class, they get forced into a healbot role a majority of the time and their DPS and tanking skills are an afterthought. An afterthought for anyone who isn't a druid, that is. For all of these reasons I have usually found druids to be the most touchy of the classes. Then again, my best friend in WoW is a druid, so I have plenty of love for the shape-shifting tree huggers.
What class do you find to be the most needy? Which one is the first to complain, and who does it the loudest?

Without ANY shadow of a doubt the biggest whiners are:
1. Horde
2. Shamans
Singlehandedly by their whining they have managed to transforming the Shaman character class that was supposed to be one of a cloth-wearing healer-type who uses spirits and totems into a pet-handling, 2-weapon dealing, dps merchant AND at the same time turn the paladin class into less than average warrior/healer/survivor by conspiring to get Blizzz to make the bubble dispellable.
...and I don't think the galactic bleaters are done yet. I think they won't be happy till Shaman's wear plate, can stealth, use bows and have flightform.

In order from most crybaby to least crybaby:
Mages.
Rogues.
Paladins.

Every class is the whiniest...but the whiniest faction is diffenitly the Horde. Everytime I roll Horde all I hear is complaining about Alliance (then i promptly leave the General Channel). It's especially bad when the servers are down and every other servers gets flooded...I don't stick to one class. Some classes I can play and some I can't...I have tried them all. I just started a Shaman and I have no complaints.

Since when did mages get the name of biggest cry baby? the only complaint I have at this time is blink needs to be fixed, for those who dont know blink sometimes gets caught on small bumps in the map and you dont go anywhere, other then that the mage class is fine. Paladins as we can see from paladinsucks' blog that they whine the most. I dont see what deafdumbandblinds problem is but shaman and paladin are fairly equal. seeing as he is also complaining about the horde extensivly doesnt that make HIM a whiner?

Paladin... you've even advertised their favorite whining website:

Anytime a patch comes that changes balance the class that's now nerfed a bit is starting to whine.
For my part, i think the class that needs the most gameplay polish is the rogue. Fuck .. do something about it.. I don't want to log in any more.
But.. definately .. the most whining guys out there are those hunters crying about them being useless while being the clear better alternative than a Rogue ever was (Fuck.. replace every rogue with a Hunter in a Raid and you have 2 Priests spare that can be replaced by hunters to make up for the dps.. what do you want more.. dishing out good amounts of damage while wearing mail and being invulnerable to getting aggro?)

errrr deafdumbandblind, i think you may have the wrong idea about this, we shaman started out as Uber, were made into "cloth wearing healer types" by a couple of years of nerf shaman posts and should now be returning to dps/healer role as we're supposed to be.
Sounds like a pissed off paladin to me ;) So one class can now dispell your bubble . . . Cue the end of the world!
Yours, a chuffed shaman

I would agree that us shamans are probably endlessly complaining more than any other...
...and not necessarily without reason.
I guess high level PVE shamans suffer from being both a really effective PVP class (thus getting all the NERFs messages) and a subpar PVE class once getting into 40-men raid content.

Saying that Horde complains more is just ignorant. I've played to 60 on both sides, and they both complain about each other pretty evenly. However, Horde seems to be more mature about it in my experience, with the exception of the Pally bitch-fests. I've been leveling a NE Rogue, and find myself turning the LFG(Global Chat) channel off because of the glaring stupidity of alliance players that loose in the BGs, and have themselves convinced it's because the Horde side are hacking. It's never because they were outskilled or geared, it's because the Horde players are hacking blizzard's system, and changing things so they cannot be killed. Yeah, that's it.
Oh, you're asking for whiny CLASSES? Well, then rogues need to relax on the agi gear and respect the hunters :)
And mages SHOULD be complaining. Dumbass blizzard and their mage hate.

Hunters.
"we're so nerfed it's not even funny!/Blizz just keeps making us worse!". Uh yeah.. AFK auto-shot crits for 1k+ dmg, complete aggro dump every 30 seconds (with a 6-minute duration for tight situations), practically mana-free and reagant-free traps, they're a nightmare for melee classes in PvP; the list goes on. Hunters have it so easy it's obscene.

"Paladin... you've even advertised their favorite whining website"
Yeah, but I love Paladins, so they get a free pass from me. :)
But those dirty, evil Shaman?! Never!
Although the Shammies I have run into in-game have all been cool non-whiners.

Anyone that whines about their class should be dragged out into the street and publicly flogged. Each class was designed to be different from all the others so people had a variety to choose from. The only thing these whiners is going to accomplish is to make it so all classes can do everything all the OTHER classes can do. I personally thought it was cool that the alliance and horde had faction specific classes. It gave you a reason to try new things, like a different faction. Most classes have their weaknesses, which can usually be exploited by another class.
Bottom line- If you're playing a hunter, and you feel like whining because a hunter isn't powerful enough, I have an easy solution. STOP PLAYING A HUNTER! Simple right? Look for a class that fits your playing style. For example, I'm the type of player that likes to get into the fray and mix it up. Knowing this, I'll never play a priest. I won't create a priest, then as i'm leveling, complain that all I can do is heal, complain about my DPS, and complain to Blizzard that all priests should have Divine Intervening Cheap Shot Fireball. If you want fireballs, PLAY A MAGE!
Just everyone stop whining. It's driving me, and others, fucking nuts!
LadyMulder Sep 27th 2006 9:57AM
The most whining I see these days is kind of a reverse whining--ally players who come over to the horde side and then complain about how they miss their ally characters and that alliance is better. Well I'll say here what I say to them "Go play your alliance characters and leave us Horde-lovers alone!" Especially when it comes to BG's...I know for a fact, have seen it, there are bugs on the ally side that they use to their advantage all the time but you know what, we horde still kick your arses!!
For the Horde!!!
Luis D. Sep 27th 2006 10:02AM
I'll tell you who the whiniest class is, it's any class that gets owned by a warlock one on one in PvP. Yeah, I don't enjoy getting seduced, deathcoiled, feared over and over again and why not a 2k shadowbolt for good measure? Seriously, nerf those fuckers.
Mike Schramm Sep 27th 2006 10:12AM
Paladins, no question whatsoever. Don't get me wrong, I've seen a lot of creative whining coming from the Pallys, and they have a lot of good points-- their class has had issues for a long time-- but when it comes to whining, they've got every other class beat by far.
Chad Sep 27th 2006 10:30AM
I agree with #8 that mages SHOULD be whining but I hear the least amount of whining from them. I dunno where Dr. Woo came up with mages as the most whiney. This most Whiney is class would have to be the Pallys and Shamans. The two most powerful and influential classes in the game whine the most. And for all you who are bickering back and forth about horde whines alliance whines, stfu. Both factions whine equally about different things. a lotta players forget that they arent actually fighting an Orc, of a Night Elf. They are just fighting another player on the other side of their computer. A regualar human who has the same thoughts as you an I do.
Burgdorn Sep 27th 2006 4:38PM
Hybrid classes are generally the whiniest. Though Paladins have taken the cake in my opinion, and I'm a paladin too. Since day one of release the Beta Paladins began telling all the new players how they were gimp before release. From there on there were nerfs that oversighted buffs, and when a bug was fixed it was herald as the greatest nerf in the game. Over the course of two years they have whined from one thing to another and I've figured out why... they don't know what they want.
Shamans whine too though, basically they see themselves as the most useless healer in the game. Regardless of what they are capable of they turn down that they can't heal well and mention how they really rely on crits too much to be stable DPS. I really think they have a better idea of what they want out of their class but they do complain about Raid viability a little much.
Druids are such a mixed bag that they tend to whine because they want too much in one tree and not enough versatility in their present thoughts. Simply put they don't play to their classes strengths leading to complaints on what they are valued for. Again they have a general viability problem but its been proven time and time again that they are remarkably versatile.
Hammer Sep 27th 2006 10:39AM
As a Pally, I have to say, we whine the most. But it's justified ;)
Acariquara Sep 27th 2006 10:40AM
Rogues. No contest about it.
Patch 1.11 did shut up some of the less vocal ones, but be sure that the waaaambulance is still making rounds at Rogue Quarter.
Acariquara Sep 27th 2006 10:42AM
...but then again I play Horde, so I don't know about Pallys in general. Oh well, I will have a crapload of them when BC hits. *So* looking forward to that aspect of the expansion.
