Hey! Where's my rested XP?
If you have a level 60 character, you may have noticed (if you run one of the many mods that continues displaying experience information after you hit level 60) that some time in the past week your rested experience -- probably maxxed out, after weeks of idling in your capitol city of choice -- has vanished. Just on the horizon of being able to put this rested XP to use, I'd been keeping an eye on this and hoping it was a bug of some sort. But now it looks like this may be "working as intended," with posters in this thread reporting that GMs say this is working properly. There's not much in the way of constructive commentary in the thread, but here's to hoping for some kind of blue response that gives us a bit of insight on why they made this change -- which only hurts 60s who have been waiting for the expansion release.Filed under: Analysis / Opinion, Bugs

This could be another hint at a very near release date for BC. Maybe Blizzard wanted to make sure that the grind from 60 to 70 lasts you a while. I know that I could get both of my level 60 toons up to 61 with that full bar of rested EXP quite easily..

they did it because its not fair to the new people who just get to 60. Just keeping it fair

I don't think it's fair, but there's really nothing any disgruntled players can do about it but complain on the forums.

It makes sense. Once you hit 60 you reach a level cap. You don't get XP and therefore shouldn't get Rested until you're able to level again. I'm surprised anyone noticed this or worse yet, has the audacity to call foul on it?

to #2 -- it's unfair to be placed at the same level and same disadvantage as a new lvl 60 char when you've got 60-100 days played at level 60. This is very unfair to characters who have waited patiently for levels beyond 60!

My guess is that the xp system will work differently from 60-70. Perhaps just rested XP will accumulate slower, but I'm anticipating (and maybe hoping for) a much more drawn out process than the first sixty levels.

to #5 - tough break. You could also argue it's 'unfair' that all the existing 60s don't get to automatically start at lvl 61 or 62 or something since they weren't able to earn any xp from killing mobs or turning in quests once they hit 60, but that's the way the cookie crumbles. Older lvl 60s will have better gear than newer lvl 60s due to all the instance and raid runsthe older folks should have been running, so they'll have an advantage in leveling faster due to that. If you want to get full xp after hitting lvl 60, start a new toon.

ugh. Leveling up sucks sooo badly compared to end game content tho. =_[

I'm still miffed about the whole PVE to PVP transfer BS. Blizzard doesn't really care about keeping things fair, they just care about keeping people happy. Happy people mean a nice bottom line. They make their decisions based on how many people they stand to lose on each side of an argument, and then plant themselves squarely on the side where the most people will quit. Can't blame them I would do the same if I owned a money making machine like this.

At first I though I was getting ganked for my rest XP too, I would of gladly handed it over or better yet, traded it for an official release date of BC.

Everyone's been saying that 60-70 exp gain will be only from quests - this may be evidence to that. You won't need rested bonus when you can only gain exp from quests.
