Is anyone really into the holiday thing?

I don't know. Maybe I am lame. But with just a few exceptions, I don't get into most of the holidays around Azeroth.
The Christmas and Halloween events are pretty cool, as you can get some neat loot that you can play with, but Harvest Festival? Some buffed food items? Not very exciting. Children's Week strikes me as pretty unspectacular as well. I get that they are trying to spice things up a little bit, and I appreciate that. I simply find myself not caring about half of the holidays that we celebrate in-game. I guess on a RP server some of these less exciting events might take on a little more flavor, but if you aren't on a role playing server, do you care about Harvest Festival?
I will admit some of the holidays are a step above. The wands that turn people into skeletons and bats during Hallow's End are pretty darn awesome. And turning your mount into a reindeer? The Feast of Winter Veil delivers.
I should probably just be grateful we get any holidays at all, as they certainly aren't required. But with some of the holiday events being so well done, and others being much less so, it makes me greedy! I want good events every time. What do you guys think? Do you enjoy the holiday events? Does one event stand out as the best? Or do you just ignore all of them?

I liked the Valenties Day festival. You could either choose to collect presents or do the side quest trying to find out the conspiracy (who was causing this festival), except the rewards were lame (a shirt? I went through all that finding out it was an undead character in the foothills and all I got was a shirt?) Do any of the festival quests give XP or reputation? It would be worth it then.

Take a note from EQ type events .. semi-huge scripted random events that occured any time ... any place.. and made the game interesting..
Brell attacking Qeynos ...
Cazic-Thule destroying newbies in the Overthere ...
Made it feel more alive :P

Well, I enjoy the little trinkets from several of the holidays.
For example, I love the fire crown and shoulders from the festival over the summer. Combine those with my Torch of Austen (think that's spelled right) and the red festival dress from the Lunar festival, and it looks pretty dang good.
I dunno, I just like getting small trinkets. Plus, the buffed food from stuff like this, though not permanent, do help a bit.
I'd say this Summer's fire festival stands out the most for me, but that's because on one alt I put in a lot of work to get the fire shoulders. A 20 person raid of people lv. 5-25 racing all over the place to get them, was a lot of fun :) (though also a nightmare. Gods, I hate the Hinterland Wolves...).

The trip to Uther's Tomb netted me 6600xp and all it took was a flight to Chillwind and a short stroll to the tomb.
The Harvest Nectar is a nice free bonus, don't have any use for the free food though.

I loove the holidays! Especially the Halloween and Christmas ones. I can't wait! All the other ones are interesting as well, and while I may not do all the activities associated with them, it's nice to see the change in scenary they bring about.

I also love the holidays. Some are a little lackluster but most add some form of entertainment. Halloween is by far the best imo. Between wands, foods and decorations it is hard to beat.

Children's week is only boring for the unimaginative. I had a blast taking my orphan to meet Drak, Hakkar and Ossirian. I bet that kid had better stories than the ones who just went to meet Jaina Proudmoore

That harvest festival had one good thing last year.
Hunters could feighn death and start eating that food like they normally could do. But normal food doesn't continue to regenreate Health when you enter Combat. That Harvest Festival Stuff did continue..
So .. It had it's point.. although it's not a necessitiy

Azeroth comes alive at the Holidays. They're a break from the norm. Fun decorations, free food, buffs or special items. I just wish they were longer for those of us who play more casually.
I also wish they were all as good as Winterveil. I log on to some of my alts even now and find I still have some Mistletoe in my inventory. If you recently were surprised to find yourself with a "Season's Greetings" spirit buff in IF, it may have been me!

little events are nice, it's give purposes, a "sense of life"
I love both little and big events.

The holiday stuff in WOW is really lame and cheesy, and they have so many "holiday" events that they are really not that special.

Last years harvest festival netted me a nice little item that's been in my pack ever since: Bounty of the Harvest (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=51821). Incredibly useful for warriors and other non-healing types. The nicest thing about it is that it scales with hp.

I like the snowballs you get for the Xmas event. I still have a bunch of them and like to toss them at my buddies and piss them off.

Fired up my little fury warrior for the first time in a while to tank UBRS for a guildie getting an attunement on an alt. Should be fun.
We get the door open, and I am about to pull the first little room of about 5 mobs when BAM! I am turned in to a Wisp! For the record, wisps can not charge, taunt, etc... Now that was funny, expecially since I waited about 10 seconds to click it off... LOL!
And snowballs. How many people have been hit by a snowball at just the right/wrong time?
So yeah, some of the holiday things are funny. But Harvest Festival with a free stack of food that doesn't even do as well as Roasted Quail? Oooooh, I saved like 70 silver. Underwhelming, much.

I love free food and drinks. I love getting hte little helpers and holly from last year.

I love the holidays too... from the snowballs, to the firebreathing, the the pretty purple dress I got my MALE troll mage lol.
Children's week was amusing if for no reason other than having the kid follow you around everywhere and emoting all over him.
